That night Maya tried all she could to sleep, she couldn't sleep even though she said she will not think about Ruby Brooklyn, but that nights the thought just bumped into her head

“Who gave you guys the right to make life decisions for me? I have my own life and I don't want a contract marriage so please stop bugging me to get married”
“I can never marry her so you all should just forget it!” Ruby shouted as he glared at everyone in the house.
His eyes were filled with hate. It made me want to curl up into a ball out of embarrassment.
The house remained completely silent. The little boy who wanted to be the flower boy at my future wedding wailed as he buried his face in his mother's neck. Mom, Felix is angry!”
His mother carried him out to the balcony to console him.
Everyone's gaze was on me, and I could feel my heart throbbing in pain. How I wished I would just pass out then and there. That would be better than enduring the pitiful looks everyone was shooting me.
10 years. We spent every day together for 10 years. He was the kind of man I dreamed about, his handsome face, his muscular body shape and his cute charming smile made my heart melt whenever I saw him. He was my world and I gave him everything. Yet what I got was humiliation.
He had trampled over my dignity and self-worth in front of his whole family. He was mild- mannered and rarely lost his temper.
Then, he turned to me and snarled, “And you, Maya stop following me around! You are annoying and suffocating.”
Ruby's grandfather, after hearing all the rubbish he spilled from his mouth,stood up in anger and hit him.
The slap was loud enough to make me shudder. It was my first time seeing grandfather upset and losing his temper to get Ruby.
Ruby hadn't expected his grandfather to hit him, he was caught off guard. The impact of his grandfather's slap sent him reeling, and he hit his head on the corner of the wall.
Ruby let out a low hiss of pain as he stared at his grandfather in disbelief.
Alyssa was surprised on how she got married to Ruby, she never imagined Ruby would be her's even for a day, Alyssa remembered how she was told to put the ring first on Ruby before Ruby later reluctantly did the same.
Alyssa had always been the one who does all the enduring and patience for Ruby,Ruby became a pain in the neck from the very moment he realized Alyssa loved him and is not even because of the contract marriage they got married but because of the love she had for him.
Alyssa tried to think of a good memory she had with Ruby but there were absolutely none, it has always been from one issue to the other.
“Ruby has done a lot of things to me but I was still willing to give him a try but now he doesn't deserve any of it, he is going to pay dearly for all the ways he treated me” on saying that she lay down to sleep.

Five days later, Ruby called his secretary, Xavier Hall, to his office.
“How is the investigation on Maya Robert going?”
Ruby looked out from the floor-to- ceiling windows at Solana city.His tall, upright figure projected an overbearing Silhouette.
“I- I'm sorry, Mr Brooklyn. There isn't any progress, “Xavier nervously reported.
“After Madam Maya Left that night, she didn't return to the sanatorium where she worked. I even went to her address only to find out that it was fake. There weren't any families with the last name Robert in that area.”
“The address is fake?” Ruby was shocked. He finally turned to look at xavier,his gaze oppressive.
“Yes. I went to the local police station to check things out, but there is no such person. “Xiaver had addressed her as madam Maya for three years. It was hard for him to change this habit.
Ruby was stunned. Who did he marry? Was she a spy?
“She left with Jonah Taylor that night. There's nothing related to him?”
“To be honest, if Mr. Taylor deliberately hid the fact that he had a new lover, it would be hard for us to find any clues.”
When Ruby heard that, he raised his brows in anger, “Jonah Taylor looks like a gentleman with good manners. How could he do such a despicable thing like stealing someone's wife?”
“Well is not really stealing. He's just taking over the duties…”
Ruby couldn't forget the scene of that night, when Jonah was so protective of Maya. He was unsure why, but he had a suffocating feeling in his heart.
His wife had always been dull. Also, Jonah was famous in their circle for being a ruthless cold man. So how did she mange to attract an indifferent guy like Jonah to protect her?
“Ruby can we not get a divorce?”
“Because I love you”
Jasper recalled what she has said to him on the day of their divorce.
“Liar!” He narrowed his eyes, and the temperature in the room seemed to drop. The more he thought about it, the angrier he got.
Then, his phone vibrated. He put away these thoughts. When he found that it was Elina calling, he quickly answered. “Eli? What's the matter?
“Ruby, I'm in your company's lobby. Can you come and bring me up? I made some dessert for you. I want you to have a taste immediately. “Elina voice wa sweet and cloying through the phone, and Xavier got goosebumps just listening to it.
Ruby was stunned by the way Elina spoke to him immediately he felt horny and he was yelling for Elina’s body.
On his way home he was still thinking of what xiaver told him, “how is it even possible? So who was I with all this year's,
while thoughts still came into his mind, his eyes went around and suddenly his eyes had an contract with Jonah Taylor eyes and besides him was Maya Robert
Ruby came down from this car and heard straight to Jonah Taylor!!
