Where the hell am I? Cal thought as he began to wake. He could hear things beeping and people talking but he was still too groggy to make out what they were saying. He took a deep breath and moaned when a sharp pain in his upper stomach pained him. Why was he in pain? “Shh, don’t move you’re still healing” a soft female voice told him. He opened his eyes, the most beautiful pair of hazel eyes he’d ever seen looked back. “You’re okay. Just a few more hours. Close to dawn and we’ll get out of here.” “Where am I?” “In a hospital," she answered. "I know it’s not ideal but there were too many humans involved to handle it any different.” He looked at the man. He was tall and very clean cut in a suit. “What?” “You were attacked, Cal.” The woman informed him. “Who?” “We aren’t sure.”
