Third Person Madison was sitting on the ground with her back leaning against the passenger door of the SUV. The outside of the vehicle was in rough shape, but the glass held, and the kids were safe. The assassin wolves were dead, and Madison was able to rest for a moment. Her breathing was heavy, and every cut burned. She could smell bitter almonds and knew the wolves had coated their nails in cyanide. It was in her blood now, and without medical intervention, she would be dead. Topaz whimpered. “It’s okay,” Madison groaned in pain. “Titus is safe, and that’s all that matters.” With an arm wrapped around her waist, she leaned her head back, closing her eyes.
