Chapter 14
Lennon had a lot of healing to do. The guy had been strangled and nearly drowned. If Ben had been the one that had been nearly drowned and strangled, he’d have been a hot mess. Lennon, though, was determined to push through and treat it like just another challenge.
“The guy’s got pneumonia,” Ben commented outside Lennon’s room that night. He leaned against the wall with Townsend while Rada stood across from him, as the nurses took vitals and did sponge baths and did whatever they thought necessary. “He’s got freaking pneumonia, and he can’t swallow comfortably, but he wants to get out of here tomorrow and simply go about his day.” He rubbed at his temples. “I don’t get it.”
