The petrifying forests

After resting for a while, we continued our journey and honestly I'd expected it to be more challenging and something to pump adrenaline into the body, yes I almost died at the cursed sand ravine but I could of found a way out in time. I rolled open the map and realized we would be entering the petrifying forests soon. According to mis saleton's story adventures had to pass through this forest and get out on time before dark, I had no idea cause back then I fell asleep, not because it was boring, I was just tired. Dove: Buckle up crew, we'll soon be entering the petrifying forests. Millie: What about the monsters in there? Jackson: Relax, until nighttime we're safe. Millie: Phew, thank goodness. Bruce: Come on, you guys don't believe in the story do ya? Dove: Um, aren't we supposed to? I mean the story is based on this adventure. Bruce: Aww you too dove? There's no way those monsters are real, they sound just straight out of fiction to be real. Dove: Look, I'm not sure, but to get to the treasure we have to go through the forest so just try to be on the safe side, We'll go while it's still bright Kay? Bruce: Alright. Dove: Good, cause according to the map we're here. In front of us was the entrance into THE PETRIFYING FORESTS. Two large evergreen trees stood like pillars which was kinda odd since the other trees making up the forest weren't evergreen. Dove: Come on guys let's move, it'll be about four hours until nighttime and I don't want us to be in there by then. Bruce: Urgh quit worrying, nothing's gonna get us, that story's getting to your head. Dove: Better safe than sorry Bruce. Bruce: Whatever. As we dived deeper the less light came through so I had to pull out a flashlight just to enhance our view. My senses were on high alert although It was hard to concentrate when I had to look at the map just so we wouldn't get lost, but I could manage. Bruce: Hey why do you have to hold the map? Dove: Because I'm the one leading us. Bruce: I know but why can't anyone else (tries to snatch the map) come on dove! Dove: What's you're problem?! Bruce: (grabs the map as they pull at it) just give it girl! Jackson: Bruce let go. Dove: I swear if you rip this map I'll make sure you pay with your life. Just as I said that, Bruce pulled hard making the map to split into two then Bruce fell down crashing into Millie. Bruce: Ow (looks at the torn map piece in hand) oops. My blood boiled due to my anger and my skin turned red. I was so mad, and you would too if your friend got you and your crew stranded in the middle of a dangerous forest. I walked towards Bruce and grabbed him by the neck, not the collar, the neck. Dove: What's your problem man?! Now look at what you've done you've gotten us lost! I started punching his face, I was so mad that I was ready to end him right here and now but Jackson after some failed attempts successfully separated us and held me back so I wouldn't kill his best-friend. Dove: (in pain) Dang, you know sometimes you need to calm down, you're a girl. Dove: That won't stop me from killing you! Jackson: Okay nobody is killing anyone, please dove. Dove: (releases from Jackson's hold) Millie: Oww. Dove: (turns to Millie) Are you okay? She was not, her leg was seriously bruised and bleeding due to Bruce's fall on her she scraped her knee. Great, we're stuck in the middle of a forest unaware of where we're even supposed to go and one of our members has a wound that needs serious attention, FANTASTIC!!! We had to stop, firstly to attend to Millie's injury and secondly cause we didn't know where to go. We set up camp under a tree and I brought out my first aid kit, which thank God I brought, and started cleaning her wound. Millie: umm question, have you ever treated a wound before? Dove: You don't trust me with this? Millie: No, just wondering if you know what you're doing. Dove: (chuckles) Ofcourse I've done this before, and it was successful. Well I've done this only once before and it was in a school drama which I played as a doctor, though it wasn't a real injury, I still counts and I knew what I was doing, plus I dealt with Millie's injury like a pro, I mean all I had to do was clean it with cotton and transparent liquid then wrap it up with bandage tape. Dove: There we go all wrapped up. Millie: Feels good. Dove: Great, now I can try to fix the map. Jackson: I have some tape if it helps. Dove: Is it transparent? Jackson: Yup. Dove: Will do (collects the tape) The sooner we fix this the sooner we could get outta here before nightfall. Millie: (checks her phone and her eyes widen) 19:30. I froze, there was no way time went by that fast. Dove: Millie, tell me you're joking. She showed me the time, indeed it was 7:30 and to back it up I could tell the sky was night due to a hole in the tree leaves. Jackson: So fast? Dove: Time must move quicker here, that's the only explanation which means we gotta get going. Millie: But where do we go? Dove: (looks at the map) we go north-west, let's go (grabs her backpack). Jackson: Wait, where's Bruce? Dove: Are you kidding me right now. BRUCE! Jackson: BRUCE?! Millie: BRUCE! We called multiple times but got no answer. Dove: Is this boy tryna prank us? Jackson: Why do I doubt that? I tried not to think that Bruce probably got kidn*pped which though would be a relief but there wasn't even any living thing around to kidnap him. But then I felt a strange presence surrounding us like we were being watched from all sides of the forest, then I heard heavy stopping followed by a growl. Dove: RUN! The three of us sped off deeper into the forest and the footsteps quickened chasing after us. I couldn't tell what they were due to the darkness but I knew they were the creatures of the petrifying forests. We ran and ran trying to not get caught by these monsters but they continued chasing us like their goal was permanently fixed on us. I assumed we could out run these creatures but I underestimated them. Why did I say that? Well because as we ran due to the darkness we didn't see the trap on the ground until we fell in. ************************** I hit my head really hard so I fell unconscious. By the time I woke up the three of us were tied to a tree, Bruce was also there but he was tied horizontally to a pole over a large fire and surrounding us were ugly looking grey monsters, I couldn't really describe them but DANG they were terrifying. As if today couldn't get any worst, we were about to be dinner for these guys, although I doubt all four of us would go round since they were like 50 of them. Bruce: well hello guys, you seem to be in a rough situation over there. Dove: You ain't doing better than us Bruce, they seem to find you the most tasty. Bruce: Shut up. Dove: (grins). Jackson: Enough you two, we seriously need to find a way outta here. I had no idea what to do but then I realized I still had my backpack on, NICE. Dove: (in a low tone) hey Jackson, reach into my bag and see if you can find scissors. Jackson: okay, I'll try. He moved closer unzipping my backpack and fiddling through the content. It was quite annoying especially since I had things in there I didn't want people to know a child like me had. Jackson: Found it! Also why do you have red candles in your bag? Dove: They're not red candles, now hand me the scissors. Jackson put the scissors in my hand and I started cutting the rope while keeping an eye that the monsters don't notice what I'm doing. Millie: But even if we cut ourselves out, how do we sneak past these guys? Dove: (turns to Bruce smirking) Maybe some bait would help. I cut myself free and snuck over to Bruce cutting him lose. Dove: Hey dude, we need you to act as bait. Bruce: (shocked) what?, no! Dove: You owe me since you got us into this mess. Bruce: Then why can't you do it boss girl? Dove: I need to free Millie and Jackson and lead them outta here, plus they already seem to find you the most delicious (grins). Bruce: I hate you. Dove: Whatever. I pushed Bruce into the view of the monsters and the moment they saw him loose they gave chase as he screamed running away. Huh, it worked better than I expected. Millie: um, is Bruce gonna be okay? Dove: (cuts them lose) probably, who cares, let's go before they come back. Jackson: What about Bruce? Dove: He said he'll catch up. We sprinted through the forest as fast as we could without looking back, our only goal to get out of this forest. Without stopping to breathe or for a break we reached the end of the forest and collapsed on the ground. I could feel my heart racing. Millie: (panting) Thank goodness, we're free! Dove: (laughing) exactly. Jackson: Where's Bruce? Bruce: Here! I spun my head to the direction of the voice and saw Bruce coming out of the forest sweaty and exhausted, his clothes were also ripped and shredded with claw marks on his face, arms and legs. Wow, he actually got outta there alive. Dove: They're not behind you are they? Bruce: No (breathes) I lost them a while back. But just in case we should be going. Dove: Good idea Millie: So where are we heading next? I brought out the map which was now fixed. Dove: Our next destination's a village. Jackson: Is that the hidden village we're the treasure is? Bruce: I hope so, I'm already tired of this journey. Dove: Not sure but we'll check it out anyways.
