Home Coming

I filled my bag pack with as much diamonds as I could. Honestly I expected gold, rubies and jewelry but diamonds were unexpected and I wasn't gonna complain, along with the diamonds was a shiny looking blue pendant which was shaped as a diamond, it looked beautiful and was probably craved from a rear blue diamond so it ought to be priceless. There were still lots of diamonds in the chest but I only took 41 pieces since I wasn't a greedy person and one diamond was enough for me to be on par with Elon musk.

Putting my bag over my shoulder I prepared to leave the cave being very careful not to step on another trap, but the moment I said that I felt my leg pull a string and then out of nowhere a catapult launched a medium sized stone which hit my already broken leg causing me to fall to the ground.

Dove: (groans in pain) Are you flipping kidding me!

Trying my best to ignore the pain and just stood up pulling out my flashlight and limping towards the entrance I fell through, which happened to be an easy walk up.

Walking out of the cave, I saw Annastacia sitting next to the entrance of the cave doing what she does best; sewing. Once she saw me, she immediately sprung up and hugged me.

Anna: Oh Dove, you were gone so long everyone already assumed you were dead.

Dove: Well, I'm still hanging onto life.

Anna: So did you find the treasure?

Dove: I sure did (drops and unzips her backpack) Lots of shiny diamonds.

Anna: (looks at the diamonds in awe) Wow, they're beautiful.

Dove: (brings out the blue diamond pendant) This is for you.

Anna: For me? but I couldn't possibly...

Dove: (places it in her hands) Take it as a gift from me.

Anna: Oh dove.

Dove: (helps her wear the pendant) It matches those midnight blue eyes of yours.

Anna: (hugs her) Thank you, I'll cherish it so much (releases) Your leg, it's...

Dove: Completely broken? I know.

Anna: We have to get you back to the village.

Dove: (carries her bag) Alright then.

Back at the village, Anastacia's father had their doctor treat my wounds urgently. Although unless they knew how to do surgery I'm definitely gonna be leaving this island with alot of injuries. Well I wouldn't blame them, the doctor was able to treat my minor wounds and stop my arm and leg from bleeding.

By that time it was already night so I had to stay over at the village. Annastacia prepared a room for me to stay and some food to eat, It was the first time I slept ever so peacefully throughout this entire journey cause I actually felt safe.

By morning the next day I was already up and active and ready to go, that morning the villagers all came to bid me farewells.

Anna: Oh dove, how I wish you could stay longer.

Dove: I wish so too but I must be getting back to where I come from. Though your village as been the only place warm and welcoming throughout the journey.

Anna: We shall miss you very much, most especially me.

Anna's father: How are you going to get back?

Dove: Now that I'm not sure, I guess I'll just go back the routes I came from.

Anna's father: (laughs) You may or may not be dead by the time you get back, I know a quicker way.

Anastacia's father pulled out a whistle made of wood and blew it, almost in an instant a giant red dragon zoomed across the sky then landed right in front of me. I froze looking at the dragon, it was the same one back at the mountains that we accidentally woke, it seemed to recognize me and narrowed it's gaze towards me puffing smoke at my face. It looked like it was about to eat me whole.

Anna's father: She seems to recognize you.

Dove: Oh so it's a she (gulps) alright then.

I looked at the dragon noticing that it didn't look pleased to see me, I mean I couldn't blame her since I technically intruded onto her home and stole something from her valuables. I guess I should apologize, before I go join my friends.

Dove: Hey, um Dragon, I am very sorry about what happened the other day, me and Bruce weren't there to steal your treasure, we were only looking for the last piece of a key puzzle, I had no idea Bruce stole from you, he has sticky fingers but I'm pretty sure you guys taught him a lesson he'd never forget, and as for me I didn't take anything, just the last key piece.

The dragon sniffed me from head to toe making me scared and uncomfortable, then she stopped looking satisfied and bent down her head signaling me to climb up.

Anna's father: She's accepted your apology, she will take you home now.

Dove: (sighs in relief) Yes.

Anna's father: Have a safe trip.

Dove: I will, oh and there are still some diamonds left in the chest down in the cave, it's all of yours to keep.

Anna's father: Your kindness is honoured.

Anna: Farewell dove.

Dove: Farewell everyone.

As I sat on the back of the dragon, she immediately took to the skies prompting me to hold on tight. We were high up in the sky that I could see everywhere on LEFU'S ISLAND. From the hidden village to the dragon's mountains to the temple of doom to the vampire village to the petrifying forests to the yellow sandpit. It was giving me nostalgia, I couldn't believe I was able to complete this mission and find the treasure, though at the cost of my friends, even with that they're dead and there's no bringing them back. Though my journey is completed and I have a bag with 41 pieces of diamonds along with a broken arm and leg to prove it.

The dragon landed at the entrance of the forest were our journey first began, I jumped off her back thanking her and even gave her one of the diamonds I got. Sniffing it she took the diamond with her mouth giving a nod then flew back. As she disappeared into the sky I turned around crossing the fence we first passed through. I had successfully left the dangerous part of the island alive.

I limped all the way to the shore of the island were tourists were entering a boat to go home so I joined them. As I was about to enter I got pulled back by a man which happened to be a tour guide.

Tour guide: Hey kid, you can't be here on your own, where are your parents?

As I turned to face him he stared in horror at my scars, wounds, broken arm, and bandaged leg.

Tour guide: Kid are you alright? You ought to be in the hospital, where are your parents?

The guide let go of me and I used that opportunity to escape into the crowd where he wasn't able to find me.

One boat ride later, I was back in my town at 4:00pm limping towards my neighborhood, I was in the worst condition I had ever been and I felt that I wouldn't last long on my own but I had no one currently to help me so I pushed myself to keep moving.

As I was on my way, a car zoomed passed frightening me as it nearly hit me, it then reversed back haulting where I stood. I was about to yell at the driver with my remaining strength as they nearly killed me but I stopped myself once I recognized the car, the door opened and out came lancie as she stared at me with shock.

Dove: Lancie?

Lancie: Dove, oh my goodness what happened to you, you look so skinny and weak, your leg is hurt and bleeding and so is your arm, what about Millie, Jackson and Bruce? Everyone's been looking for you for weeks where did you disappears to?

I opened my mouth but I couldn't say anything about our journey to LEFU'S ISLAND. I felt my body go numb and I collapsed into lancie's arm.

I woke at the hospital still feeling weak, next to me was lancie along with my parents. Seeing my parents I wanted to go back to sleep but my mom noticed that I was awake and sprung up.

Mrs dovetail: Christanna! My dear where have you been.

Dove: (silence).

Mr dovetail: Child do you know the kind of trouble you've gotten yourself into? We nearly had strokes!

Lancie: Sir, don't pressure her, the doctor's said she's still recovering from the operation.

Mrs dovetail: My dear were you kidn*pped? Where's Millie, Bruce and Jackson?

Dove: (weakly) They...Are...All...Dead.

With that I closed my eyes to rest a bit but everyone thought I was giving up my ghost and rushed to call the doctor.

The next day

I was discharged from the hospital and was taken home, I honestly didn't want to go home because my parents would start bombarding me with questions I couldn't answer.

By the time I alighted from the car I abandoned my crutches and grabbed my backpack and walked straight to my room, my parents called after me but I didn't her them and just entered my room, locked the door and collapsed onto my bed. Everywhere was just how I left it. Mis saleton's book was even still on my bed, fell bored I decided to pick it up read but as I read I couldn't help but feel more nostalgic. After I was done I started to process the enter story, it matched with the journey I just did. There were four adventurers who journeyed to a mysterious island to find a hidden treasure, they past through various parts of the map gathering three golden pieces for a key that they would use to unlock the chest and one after the other the adventurers died till it was only the platinum blonde one left whom was able to find the hidden village and the treasure then rode on a dragon back home. That was just what I did.

I slapped myself making sure I wasn't dreaming then checked my bag to still see the diamonds in it. I couldn't believe we had just re-lived mis saleton's fictional story, that is if it is indeed fiction, I had no words, I just closed the book and kept it aside. Looking back at the diamonds, I didn't know what to do with them, there was no way I was going to tell my parents about it cause I doubt they would believe me, I simply just emptied the 40 pieces into a metal box then put them in the floor boards under my bed then jumped on to my bed, they'll probably serve use in the future when I'm an adult, for now they're just symbols of the success of my adventure which I plan on telling nobody about, unless I choose to write about it and publish as a work of fiction to the world, then everyone can read, but nah for now, no one knows.
