Rani
"Prince Rudra, I see you finally join us. Why don't you sit next to your betrothed" the elder fae suggested but her tone said otherwise.
"No. I'll sit at the end of the table with Rani" Rudra said. Being defiant. The queen gave Rudra a pointed look.
"Don't be disrespectful and do as you're told. Sit next to Raiden, now" she demanded.
"I don't care if I'm being disrespectful. I'm not sitting next to that thing" he spat. The king glared at Rudra.
"For goddess sake, just sit next to the girl. It going to kill you" the king said with annoyance.
"It might" Rudra mumbled. I snorted that made everyone glared at me except for alpha Johnson. He just had a little smirk. Rudra growled.
"Glare at Rani like that, I'll rip everyone's eyes out" he snapped. I stroke his arm to calm him down. He leaned over and took a big sniffed of my hair.
"How about this. Why don't i move over so that Rudra sit next Raiden and Rani sits next to me but you two still sit next to each other" alpha Johnson suggested. Everyone was nodded in agreement. I stiffened. I don't want to sit with alpha Johnson. I feel uncomfortable around him.
"That's an excellent idea, alpha Johnson" elder witch praised. However, Rudra didn't like it one bit. He gave her a death glare.
"My Rani will not sit with anyone but me" he said possessivly. Wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me closer to him.
"It's only dinner, prince Rudra. There's no harm of sitting next to Raiden. There is no need to to be aggressive now" elder lycan said with disapprovement written all over his face.
"I can sit with alpha Johnson and Rani sit with Raiden" Rudra said.
"Don't be silly, prince Rudra. Sit with Raiden and Rani sit with alpha Johnson" elder fae said.
"Swamp beast, I don't want to sit next to alpha Johnson. There's something about him makes me feel uneasy" I mindlinked Rudra nervously.
"I know you don't, my pretty little demon but they are persistent about this" he replied softly. I signed.
"But don't worry my love, you'll still be sitting next to me and tell me if he does anything uncomfortable, tell me and we'll leave. OK?" He assured me and smiling warmly at me.
"Ok, you're right" I replied. Trying to steady my nerves. Rudra gave me reassured smile and licked my scar. I giggled. We went to our seats where Rudra sat next to Raiden and I sat next alpha Johnson and to my relief, the food arrived and everyone started eating. Everyone was busy talking to each other and enjoying their food except for me. I could only eat small amount of food cause my anxiety was getting the better of me. Rudra was stroking my thigh to comfort me which helped a little bit.
"So Rani, are you enjoying yourself, so far?" He asked politely.
"Yes, thank you alpha Johnson" I replied softly.
"How is the food? is it to your tasting, my dear?" He asked kindly.
"Yes thank you, alpha Johnson" I answered quietly. He nodded.
"That's good to hear. I'm glad that you're enjoying yourself and you're liking the food. I also told you that to call me Johnson or John, remember?" he chuckled.
"Ummm yes, of course. I forgot" I said nervously. My anxiety getting the better of me.
"Mine" Rudra growled and putting his arm around me waist possessivly; pulling me close to him which I'm glad accept.
"Of course, prince Rudra. There's no need to be possessive. We're just making light conversation. Isn't it right Rani?" Alpha Johnson said respectfully.
"Right, just having light conversation" I agreed. Rudra just glared at him. He kissed my forehead and we continued eating our food.
During dinner I had a bad feeling about tonight all of a sudden. I don't know what but my gut is telling me something is wrong. I couldn't stop shake the feeling. I was tapping my foot on the ground and of course Rudra noticed. He puts his hand on my thigh and gently stop my leg from moving.
"What's wrong, my love? You seemed agitated" he asked concerning. He looked at me worried.
"I don't know. I just have this feeling that something bad is going to happen" I said honestly.
"Do you want to go?" He asked softly.
"Yes please" I said quietly. He nodded and we were about to leave when one of elders spoke.
"Alpha Johnson, I think it's time for lady Raiden to go to the stage" the elder dragon stated. Alpha Johnson nodded and stood up to face the guests.
"Ladies and gentlemen, would you please make your way to the stage for my daughter to present herself" he boomed. Present herself? and knowing what i was thinking Rudra answered my thoughts.
"You will see her dragon, my love" he explained.
"I thought she already has her dragon" I said feeling confused.
"No sweetheart, she has the ability of her dragon but she will get her dragon now" he explained some more.
"So how comes she gets her dragon now and not when she's twenty one like you?" I asked feeling more confused.
"Females dragons mature earlier than male dragons, my pretty little demon" he said patiently.
"Oh! Ok cool"
Everyone was started make their way to the stage. The elders, St.Clear and Rudra's parents was on the stage with Raiden. Me and Rudra was standing behind them.
Raiden was standing at the centre of the stage, facing the crowds. Everyone was waiting, eagerly to see Raiden's dragon. It didn't take long to wait cause soon after, Raiden started to transform. Smoke started to come off her body. Smoke and green flames started to swirl around her. Her skin turned to scales and she started to grow, then after a few seconds she was now a dragon. Her scales were green that reflex a hint of red at the end of each scale. She spread her wings a d blow out green and blue fire. Everyone cheered with the success of the transformation. Raiden then turned back to her human form with her clothes still intact. Doe's all dragon shifters still have their clothes every time they turn back to human form? I ask Rudra about later.
"My daughter's has successfully completed her transformation. Big cheers for her success" alpha Johnson boomed to the crowds. Everyone cheered.
While everyone cheered for Raiden, Rudra stiffened and was grabbing my wrist hard. He was hurting me. I looked up at him to see what's wrong and I noticed that his eyes turned golden.
"Uh swamp beast, what's wrong?" I asked worried but he didn't respond. He was just standing there like he was glued to the spot, staring. I looked over to what he was staring and to my shock, Raiden was staring back at Rudra. She started to walk over to Rudra and the word I would never expect to hear from her mouth and I don't want to hear from her.
"Mate"
