Killian
I sat in the hot water, steam rising around me and up into the cool room as I thought about my next move. I discovered a strange emotion at the bottom of my slowly evaporating passion.
Intrigue. I sighed and sank deeper into the water, my eyes closed, and my thoughts switched off. In the darkness of my mind, a pair of hazel eyes played.
Dammit! I still wanted her. There was no way around it. I still desired her. Although she had drugged and seduced me, my wolf still wanted her.
The way she moaned, and her lucid body writhed beneath me. I couldn’t get enough of it. I sighed yet again. Restless, I shifted back and forth in the tub. I needed to relax. Fine. I could simply get out of my bath and approach her, f*****g her until I couldn’t stand it anymore. Overpowering her would be simple. My c**k was lengthening, showing that I was enjoying the idea of her pleading for her release.
I hadn’t thought about a woman in years. Because of my work. I didn’t have a lot of time to date. Until a lovely lady seduced me five years ago... Returning my gaze to the bathroom door, I drew my thoughts back. I couldn’t let it happen again. I climbed out of the tub quickly, not bothering to dry myself. I simply put on my robe and returned to the suite. My gaze darted around the room in search of her.
What I didn’t expect was that when I came out, all of my clothes had vanished, save for a pair of underwear on the bed. The hotel room was immaculate. There were several hundred-dollar bills on the bedside table and a note. I approached it and picked it up to read.
“I enjoyed your performance last night, but you ripped my clothes to shreds, so I borrowed yours. To express my gratitude, I’ve kept my share of the room’s rent. Our deal is still in effect. Until later... Rose Bains, your woman.”
“Rose?” I read the note again, to be certain. That b***h again! It’s no surprise she looked familiar. But she had changed so much that she was unrecognizable. And how did she change her scent? I might forget a face, but a wolf never forgets a familiar scent.
Well, I needed to find her. I would subdue her and rule over both her body and soul. I would trap her for me, all the while enjoying myself. Finally, after she had satisfied the last of my desires for her, I would deny her and send her to my men. I took out my phone and dialled Raymond’s number.
Rose–I stumbled into the house, burdened by the weight of the day. All I craved was solace in a hot bath, a temporary escape from the world. However, upon entering the living room, my expectations were shattered. Cassie, my cousin, sat on the couch, and suspicion narrowed my eyes.
“Where were you?” she demanded; her gaze fixed on me.
Exhausted, I sighed. “That’s none of your business.”
A venomous intensity emanated from Cassie, making my skin crawl. Her hiss cut through the air. “Don’t lie to me. I know where you were.”
Anxiety flooded me, and my heart pounded in my chest. “What are you talking about?”
Cassie rose, her fists clenched at her sides. “You went to see someone, didn’t you? Someone you’re not supposed to see?”
Confusion clouded my thoughts as I tried to comprehend Cassie’s accusations. How could she possibly know about my encounter with Killian? It seemed implausible.
“I genuinely do not know what you’re talking about,” I replied, my voice tinged with irritation as I walked away.
“Don’t play dumb with me!” Cassie snarled.
“I’ve seen how you look at him and how he looks back. Do you believe you can slip around behind our grandfather’s back, and no one will notice?”
Who was this enigmatic “him” she was referring to?
“I swear, Cassie, I do not know what you’re talking about,” I said, raising my hand in defeat.
Cassie took a step closer, her face twisted in rage. “Don’t lie to me. I know everything. I’m aware of who he is, where you meet, and everything else.”
This was completely insane. Cassie had no way of knowing. She was too stupid.
“It’s clear you’re envious of me because Bryan chose me over you. I can’t help myself if I’m more beautiful than you. But that doesn’t give you the right to steal him from me.”
A wave of relief washed over me as I blinked. I laughed. Cassie’s statement was ridiculous, and I realised how insecure she must be to make such a remark. Cassie’s rage grew as I doubled down, laughing.
“Do you think it’s amusing? Do you think he’d ever pick someone like you? Someone who sleeps around. Someone with no honour?”
“I wasn’t with Bryan, and I’m not interested in that weasel. Regardless of how wealthy he is.” I spoke quietly and walked away. “Wait, a minute! You can’t just leave!” Cassie was chasing me like a banshee.
“I’m not having an affair with your precious Bryan for the last time.”
Ignoring her, I continued inside. Cassie chased after me, her rage escalating.
“I know you’re deceiving me. You have a reputation for seducing men. Five years have passed, and you haven’t changed at all,” she spat.
Rage surged within me at Cassie’s baseless accusations. Her relentless bullying had reached its limit.
“Enough!” I yelled, my anger breaking free. “If you have nothing else to say, get out!”
Cassie’s narrowed eyes bore into me as she moved closer. “I have no desire to see you.”
With contempt, Cassie surveyed her surroundings, as though I were dwelling in a slum. “I have a message for you.”
Curiosity piqued, I inquired, “What message?”
“Grandpa wants you to meet Mr. Richard, the Alpha of the Eclipse pack, and the owner of Tiara Diamonds. You might recall him. He’s Grandpa’s close business associate and a wealthy man,” Cassie revealed.
A knot formed in my stomach, anticipating the direction of this conversation.
“He’s offered to take you as his mate. It seems like a suitable match. You’ll finally be a Luna,” Cassie continued, a hint of satisfaction in her tone.
Surprise widened my eyes, and the mere thought made my skin crawl. Mr. Richard was much older, and the idea of sharing my life with him was unbearable.
“What?” I asked, my voice trembling with fear and anger.
“Look, I’m just here to deliver the message. You must meet with him tomorrow. Lana will send you the details,” Cassie mentioned, referring to our grandfather’s secretary.
Fury surged within me as I realised the extent of manipulation I was being subjected to. Cassie sat there, smugly witnessing the unfolding drama.
“I refuse,” I muttered.
Cassie’s surprise was obvious. “What?”
“I’m not going to meet Mr. Richard. Inform Grandpa,” I asserted.
Cassie huffed, and her scowl revealed her disdain. I held back the urge to strike her, not wanting to upset Grandpa.
“It doesn’t matter what you believe. Tell Grandpa I won’t meet Mr. Richard,” I declared as I retreated inside.
Triumphantly, Cassie grabbed her Chanel bag and departed. Collapsing onto the bed, I contemplated the events of the day. Mr. Richard didn’t bother me; he would never marry me. There were other pressing matters on my mind. Retrieving the USB. I smiled at it. It was time for the step two.
