Chapter Thirty Two

Samantha I cautiously approached the window and reached out to test the latch. The window was unlocked. I peered out into the night and I looked over the window and saw the distance to the ground wasn't too far. I was willing to take the risk if it meant escaping James's clutches. Just as I was about to climb out the window, my eyes fell upon a small spy camera placed in the corner of the room. He has been watching me. I grabbed a nearby vase and hit it on the camera. I watched as the device shattered into a thousand pieces. I knew I couldn't let my guard down for a moment. I climbed out the window and landed on the ground with a soft thud. My knee was a little bit hurt but at least I managed to get out, that is all that mattered. I glanced around and I quickly realized I wasn't alone.
