A carriage with about six flying horses tied with ropes around their necks joined the huge carriage with wheels, the golden color of the horses and carriage glowing brightly.
"Father, I have prepared the carriage you requested for," Protheus (demigod of replication) spoke, walking inside the chambers of Lord Oxinavil.
"Very well, let's go to the Void Realm," Oxinavil responded, standing upright to pick his trident, gold and blue colors coated around it.
"Protheus, I am taking you with me so you can gain knowledge and experience. Learn as much as you can."
"Alright, sir, but I don't get something. I'm kinda confused."
"Go on, tell me."
"Why did you send those demigods to get the sword for you in the Void Realm when you are going yourself?"
Oxinavil chuckled. "Hahaha, I see why you are worried. Those demigods were sent on a death sentence.
They can’t survive the wrath of the Hell Beasts residing at the Ravishing Path."
He leaned on the trident, his eyes narrowing.
"I sent them to die. You see, son, I have eyes and ears everywhere. Their teammates came reporting to me they were planning to escape. And for Yosuke…" He paused, smirking.
"He possesses a power Ancient God Trinity had, a sacred power.
There was a prophecy that the Divine Light would bring about the destruction of the gods. I never believed it until I witnessed it. So I had to get rid of them."
Protheus’ lips curled in a strange mix of admiration and unease.
"Alright, Father, I am so eager to get to the Void Realm."
They both entered the carriage, the driver snapping the reins as the six glowing horses flapped their massive wings, pulling the carriage through the air.
They pierced through the barrier shielding Gaia's Realm without breaking it, heading straight for the Void Realm.
......
Footsteps echoed in two different rhythms. One dragged, the soft sound of fine garments brushing against stone.
From the shadows appeared a tall figure in a pure white attire with golden designs, hood covering his head.
Behind him followed a shirtless blue-skinned figure, gold designs carved along his arms and legs beneath his robe.
"Greetings, Lord Girathon, what brings you here?" a guard spoke, kneeling with his head bowed.
"Bring out Cacreed. Oxinavil, bring him to my chamber," Girathon’s voice boomed without slowing his pace.
"But Lord Girathon, you gave an order he should be released the night of the full moon tomorrow," the guard stammered.
Oh geez, what will I do? he thought.
Girathon’s eyes flared. "You dare question my authority?!"
He vanished in a blink, reappearing with his hand around the guard’s throat, lifting him high before tossing him across the yard like a rag doll.
The others trembled. The chief guard rushed forward. "We… we are… so sorry!"
"Bring Cacreed out!"
"My lords, pardon my " the chief guard’s words were cut short.
"Lock him up till I ask you to release him," Oxinavil’s voice cut through like a blade. "Next time they will teach you all never to disobey an order."
He smirked, winking at Girathon.
"Puny idiots," Girathon spat as he left.
"Lock him up," the chief guard barked. They handed Lord Cacreed over to Oxinavil as other guards dragged the injured man to the cells.
Cacreed’s eyes glimmered faintly as he walked. "My days are finally up. We will finally meet, Father," he whispered to himself.
The path opened to a garden with bright green grasses and flowers of every color.
From the shadows, Idina burst forward. "Guys, let's go!!"
"Huh, I’m confused. Girathon and Oxinavil are guys?"
"Oh haha," Double S snorted.
He dispersed his aura, the illusion of his and Xingho’s appearance fading. Underneath, they revealed themselves.
"Xingho, what the hell are you doing?" Cacreed demanded.
"We have to move. I’ll explain later," Xingho said, grabbing his arm.
They disguised themselves as guards, stole three horses, and rode hard out of Gaia's Realm.
"Where are we going?" Cacreed asked.
"My brother is in danger. I have to save him!" Double S shouted, kicking his horse into full speed.
Idina leaned forward, black hair whipping in the wind. "Even if you lost your powers, Elder, your skills and knowledge are still worth more than ours combined."
She caught herself thinking—We finally found a good Elder God, but he has no power. What is really going on?
"Do you recall the blade you said Lord Girathon was going to use to kill you?" Xingho asked.
"Of course. Why?"
"It's ready. Lord Oxinavil asked my brother and three other demigods to get the sword from the Void Realm."
"No… no. You’ve got it wrong. If the sword was truly made, it’s too precious for them to send demigods. They’d go themselves."
"But my brother said they told him to follow the Ravishing Path to get to the Void Realm."
Cacreed’s jaw tightened. "Now I get it. He tossed them to their deaths."
"Why do you say so?" Idina asked.
"The Ravishing Path is where the Hell Beasts live. They attack in endless numbers the more you kill, the more come. If your brother is still alive, he’s lucky."
"We need to help them fast. How do we get there?" Double S asked as they halted, stepping onto the sandy ground.
"It’s risky. But I can take you there instantly."
"We don’t have a choice. Do it," Idina said.
"I’ll need to absorb almost all of your Divine Aura temporarily to teleport you. Who’s the weakest?"
"Double S!!!" Idina and Xingho shouted at the same time.
"You gotta be kidding me," he barked.
"Haha… sorry, but you are," Xingho grinned.
"Shut your trap. Fine, I’m ready," Double S sighed.
Cacreed smiled, placing his hands on Double’s head. His fingers slid through his hair as his hands glowed, pulling the Divine Aura out of him. Double collapsed to one knee, weak.
"Wow. You’ve got great aura, boy. Feels good having power again, even if it’s temporary," Cacreed said, glowing with renewed strength.
"Come close. I’ll teleport you all. But you " he pointed to Double S "you can’t come."
"What?! Why not?"
"With your low aura, teleporting you would kill you instantly. Sorry, boy."
Idina’s hand gripped Double’s shoulder. "I’m sorry."
"It’s fine. Go. I’ll catch up," he said.
"Don’t you dare come after the fight is over," Xingho muttered.
"Get this guy away from me before I kill him," Double S grumbled.
"You kids… take care," Cacreed said. His aura engulfed them all, and in a flash they were gone.
---
The box-shaped construct descended slowly, landing with a thud.
Inside, Zactire, Foxtriot, Azartenious, and Yosuke braced themselves.
All around, Hell Beasts hundreds of them crawled out of the sea and onto the sand, their growls deafening.
"Guys… I can’t hold this anymore. My energy’s nearly gone," Zactire panted.
"You’ve done your best," Azartenious said, gripping his spear.
"You’ve done more than enough, mate," Foxtriot added.
"We fight till help gets here," Yosuke said, sweat dripping from his brow.
"What help?" Zactire asked.
"I sent a psychic message to my brother. But it’s a long way. He might not get here in time."
"Nice. I just hope he does. For now—" Zactire’s whip snapped in his hand. "—let’s kick these demons’ ass."
