EMILY A groan slipped through my lips as I stretched over silk sheets. I froze, my brows furrowed. Silk sheets? Despite the pounding in my head and the jabbing ache in my side, the tingling prickles of pain ghosting my wrists, I jerked upright only for pain to explode across my forehead as I slammed into something hard. I blinked, trying to scream, but the sound caught in my throat. I was face to face with a pair of still, unreadable gray eyes. My heart kicked into overdrive.
