The day was peaceful as usual, but the cold had gotten worse. The mansion was peaceful as it was in the evening. Sophia was sleeping in her room, it was freezing outside but she wanted to walk a little bit outside. She had been inside the house from the day she departed from the palace.
She got out of bed carefully and activated the fire element to lighten up the room. She walked towards her wardrobe and took out a warm, simple dress together with her white/blue floor length winter cloak. Anna had been very busy as she was the only one with her at the moment. She didn't want to bother her and didn't want to show her baby bump, she wanted it to be a surprise. At the moment when her baby bump was growing she needed to be very careful with everything she did, her food, drinks and daily routines would change a little bit. In the past few days when her belly was growing, she sensed more than just one heart beating, maybe it was her imagination, but she did sense two of them. But didn't the queen in the game give birth to just one baby, or tried to give birth to one baby. It can't be certain as they didn't say anything in the game, if it was going to be more than just one. Sophia was sure she had twins, her sickness was more severe than normal for one baby. She had begun to gain more weight and extreme fatigue, and her gut was telling her it was twins. She knew having twins would be double difficult than just having one, and she needed to be very minded with everything she did, ate and drank.
She was just a few weeks pregnant, but she was almost tired every time, thats why she was in bed very often. she walked very carefully down the stairs with the help with the help of the stair holders. When she got down, she kind of regretted making the stairs, instead of elevators. But the thing is elevators don't even exist here. She looked around the main floor and saw how Anna was working. She was pretty much dead, circles under the eyes and her body screamed exhaustion. Even though she kind of remade the house, some corners needed to be cleaned up. She knew she was working too hard, and because she was the only servant in the mansion at the moment. She walked towards Anna and taped at her shoulders!
"My lady?" she didn't know why Sophia was down at the moment. Ever since they moved she was always in her room or the library.
"Let's go out for fresh air" said Sophia. It wasn't only Anna who needed it, she also did. She was like a bird locked inside the house, anyway the whether looked good for air even though it was cold. The whether was nice as she thought it would be, it had that cold but fresh air. If like she hadn't been outside for a while-which is true! The town was lively, even though it was cold many were smiling and you could feel the warm vibes. Sophia was about to go back together with Anna after shopping and looking around, but that was before they heard screams and yelling. Sophia noticed this spot where many people were gathered, it looked something had happen, and it was the same place where the screams and yelling came from. 'Curiosity killed the cat' that could be how you could describe it! Sophia was stood amongst the crowd and looked at what was happening. It looked like a little girl had stolen a healing potion and the owner was yelling and beating her for it. The country was powerful and all, but there's nothing as perfect. Of course Ellesmere had flaws, there were people who suffered while others enjoyed themselves.
The owner was kicking, cursing and yelling at the girl to give back the battle. The girl was on the ground with bruises, holding the bottle close to her chest as if it was his whole life. If it continued like this the little girl would die on the spot; Sophia being the i***t she is, stepped forward and stopped the owner from hitting the boy again. Long story short- the owner threatened her saying this and that, and to the end Sophia payed for the potion. When he saw the golden coins, he shut up and pretended nothing ever happened. Everybody left as if it was nothing, no one seemed to notice the girl limping and trying to get up. Sophia came closer to the little girl, helped her up and sat on her knees to look closer to the little girl.
Her right leg was broken from the beating and couldn't stand up properly! She needed assistance to walk and Sophia picked her up, and asked her where she was going.
It seemed like the little girl was trying to get the potion for her brothers and sisters. Some of them was injured very badly and it got worse as they had nothing in the cold winter. When Sophia arrived she couldn't believe what she was seeing, she knew every country had flaws, but this was too much. The place they kind of lived couldn't even be called a place, much more a part of Ellesmere. The kids were injured, so skinny that you could see their bones and some of them were on the verge of dying. She knew the world wasn't as beautiful as she thought when she was young, but this was far or to scary, the most terrifying thing was that all of them were only young children. Sophia walked through and found two severely injured young children, a blind girl and a teenage boy. The little girl struggled in her arms signaling that she wanted to be put down.
She ran to the two teenagers and Sophia followed by looking around the place. The winter in Ellesmere was colder than North Pole, and these kids slept outside enduring it to the core. It was amazing that they had survived to this length.
She kind of felt bad for them! They were young and had a long time to enjoy life, but here they were suffering. You may have a good family, background, house and food, but there's many others who doesn't. She didn't know when she had reached the children, the little girl had dropped a few drops of the position, but it didn't do much. On the bright side it was better than laying down with the wound bleeding and in pain! She bend down and something popped on her hand. The boy got startled and took the little girl in his arms, it looked like protecting her or shielding her from Sophia. "Don't be afraid! I'm only gonna heal your wounds" said Sophia to the boy. Her coat hoodie was hiding half of her face, only revealing her red lips. Her voice was sincere, nice to the ear and very gentle, he didn't even know when he had lost his guard. Healing his wounds was the only thing Sophia could do for him at the moment, it could have been infected if not healed properly. She looked around the place, and a lot of the kids were teenagers, the wounded one was more elder than the rest of them.
Sophia turned around and was about to leave, but she stopped halfway. She couldn't just leave the kids there to die in the cold without food, drinks or more less clothes. She turned around, and the kids were also watching her, she walked back to them, stood in the middle and began to talk.
"Why don't you come home with me?" the kids were speechless and maybe a little bit lost of what Sophia just said to them. This strange lady came to them with their little sister, healed their big brother's wound and is now asking them to go with her home! What kind of woman is she? Is she stupid or what? The dark alley they were at was quit, the only thing you could hear was the water drops falling from the tall buildings. It seemed like no one wanted to talk, but the silence was taking too long, so Sophia spoke first.
"Anna, is anybody near by?" asked Sophia Anna first. That question brought Anna back from her sea of thoughts. she was about to answer, but was interrupted by someone.
"Why? Why should we follow you, a stranger? Our own parents abandoned us even when we share the same blood!" Suddenly said a voice. The children, Sophia and Anna turned around to the direction of where the voice came from. There stood one blind girl, grey messy hair and bloody bandages covering her eyes. It looked like she was the eldest here!
"It's better than dying in this freezing winter, without food and clothes! You're right, why should you follow a stranger, but I can provide you something. I can give you a place to stay, food, warmth and clothes. In return you will just keep me company, or help around my place" stated Sophia to the blind girl.
The girl looked at Sophia for a while, the same silence came by, but it didn't last longer like the previous one, since the blind girl broke it.
"Fine!" said the girl. Sophia smiled knowing the smile, she was a little strange but she liked her. She had confidence, strength and knowledge in her tone, it didn't say anything even if she was blind. Everything was clear, that was the moment Anna came to Sophia's side,
"My lady, everything is clear" said Anna standing beside her. Sophia walked to the middle and began chanting something. In that matter of second time was frozen, a teleportation circle visible. The children didn't have time for a reaction as they already had been sucked in the portal. The next moment they opened their eyes. They found themselves in this elegant mansion. They stood up, looked around and turned around to look at the strange lady they had met.
This time she wasn't wearing her winter cloak, which covered half of her face. There stood an elegant and the most beautiful woman they had ever seen. The kids found themselves blushing!! Hehehe, so cute:)) The long white hair which almost touched the ground accompanied by her simple blue dress. Her white milky skin glowing, the red lips so tempted and her glowing heterochromia eyes. she was more than just beautiful and elegant, maybe a descending goddess?!? That must be it, there was no other explanation. They just stood there, staring at her without closing their eyes. Sophia just stood there giggling a little bit thinking it was so cute! But her giggle stopped when she felt something.
"Anna, it's late. Get the kids to the North Wing. We'll talk more about this tomorrow, we have visitors" said Sophia to Anna who had stood beside her for the past few minutes. Anna was sure they didn't have any visitors for the day, but she just obeyed Sophia and tok the kids to the North Wing. Sophia walked to the sofas and sat down. She prepared four cups of tea, and some sweets at the side. Suddenly three figures was in front of her.
"Welcome, Mother, Father and Brother!" said Sophia to the three figures with a smile
"Don't 'welcome' me, tell me what happened?" said a female voice-which was her mother. It looked like her mother already heard of the news. She looked almost like Sophia except from her blue grey eyes. Her white smooth long hair, white milky skin and pink lips was exactly like hers. The two of them could be twins as her mother looked like she was in her early 20s, but she was already in her 40s.
Sophia's mother; Elisabeth Olivia Evelyn!:))
"Why don't you seat down first, I'll explain" said Sophia calmly with the same smile as before. Her parents and brother sat at the opposite sofa, face to face with Sophia. This was going to be a long night.
AFTER 1 HOUR
"So that's how it is" said her mother calmly, but she was still angry-her eyes couldn't hide the hatred she had at the moment. Her father was sitting calmly and drinking his tea, watching the mother and daughter conversation. On the other hand, her brother was beyond exploding.
"I knew it! The moment I met that bastard, I just knew he would do this towards you" stated her brother angrily. He really loved his sister, she was also the youngest sister he had. Sophia's mother was rubbing her head and thinking through what just had happened, like how her beautiful youngest daughter had been abandoned etc. She had married her to the royal family thinking they would love and take care of her, the crown prince loved ver deeply back then, even though they were engaged since birth, Sophia didn't love him. The crown prince did everything to get her love- and lastly into marriage, but where did that great love and devotion go?
"My child, what are you going to do with the child?" the whole room got silence. Every eyes turned to stare at her belly, it wasn't very visible, but they could see the little baby bump under her dress. Her mother was worried about her and her future, while the others in the room were quit and speechless about what the two women were talking about.
Eh?
What?
"I cut ties with him and the royal family, this child in my abdomen has no relationship with him. It's my child! I will give birth to him and raise him on my own" said Sophia drinking her cup of tea. she had determination in her tone talking. Her mother signed.
"...How are you going to raise the child alone! You have nothing, except this huge mansion" said her mother back. Now that she had actually had brought it up, Sophia hadn't though about how to raise the child. Her mother was right, she had nothing except from the house.
The silence filled the room, that was until her brother said something,
"We will support her!" All eyes turned to his direction, he was a little startled, but he still continued,
"That bastard abandoned her, the only thing she has left is her family. Anyway, I'm going to be an uncle, of course I support her, I even take care of her if you don't" stated her brother happily. He was the eldest son of the family, but he didn't succeed his father, he wanted to be a doctor instead. His father was understanding and supported his decision, so his second eldest son took over the family. He didn't come with them since he had to much work to take care of.
Sophia's eldest brother; Jaide Elias Evelyn
The Evelyn couple looked at each other and signed. They didn't say anything, but Sophia and Jaide knew they agreed. The two siblings exchanged eye contacts- Jaide winked to Sophia, while she smiled back at him. It was getting late and many things had occurred! It was time to rest!
"We've travelled a long way, and it's getting late. Let's rest!!" said her father. That was the first sentence he had said ever since he had arrived, but he was thrilled since he was going to be a grandfather soon. He was a person of a few words, but his family understood him just fine. Blonde hair with heterochromia eyes which Sophia inherited from him. He looked so young, but like his wife, he was in his 40s.
Sophie's father; Ezra Damond Evelyn
The family went up, to their own rooms to rest! The long day was finally over! Good and bad things had happened, but at least there were good news.
