“I won’t try to run away.” Serah said in irritation. “Even if I do, I believe you’ll be more than capable to stop me.”
“That goes without saying.” Asher said smugly.
“Then there’s no need to stick so close to me!” She lashed out, trying to extricate herself from his hold.
Asher reacted by pulling her even closer to him, causing her cheeks to heat up. “I prefer to be cautious.”
“Can’t you find some other way to be ‘cautious’?” She yet again tried freeing herself. Her determination stemmed mostly from the fact that having him so close to her unsettled her. It made her heart react in all the wrong ways, pulling forth the feelings she was trying so hard to suppress.
