Serah did one last thorough check behind her, ensuring no one was following her before making a run for it. She couldn’t sit around waiting anymore when Aria could be at Niall’s mercy right now. Gareth went ahead to look for her on his own, leaving Serah behind under the guise that it would be too dangerous. She had just breached the Ventrue Territory when someone suddenly seized her from behind. She vehemently tried to fight him off but then she heard his voice and her heart stuttered.
“Serah, calm down! It’s me…” Asher whispered urgently.
She allowed him to drag her into the cover of nearby trees. As soon as he halted, she spun around, her heart soaring when she took in his striking eyes.
"You're fine." She whispered with emotion, her hands automatically lifting to cradle his face.
