Rising from bed at five, Cat knew this was one of her and Nicholas’s final days together. He’d asked her to walk the beach and watch the sunrise. He had a flight that morning and would be back later that night. She brushed her teeth, slipped on her bikini, and wrapped the sarong around her waist. A gentle knock sounded—it could only be him. With her keycard in hand, she greeted Nicholas at the door. “Good morning, beautiful.” He leaned down, cupping her neck, and kissed her like she was the only thing in the world that mattered. “Good morning. What a wonderful greeting.” Joy blossomed from inside. She wanted to savor every second they had left together.
