Scarlett’s POV The next morning, I woke up to silence. A strange silence, not the peaceful kind, but the sort that hums behind your ears and makes everything feel unreal. For a moment, I forgot where I was. Then I saw the ceiling. High. Ornate. With gold linings and crown moldings too elegant to exist in a regular home. I turned to my side and sighed.
