Curious, she picked it up, expecting a message from her assistant or perhaps a reminder.
Instead, her screen was filled with images, photos from a recent family gathering. Her parents, radiant and smiling, stood alongside her sister, Jasmine, at an event they had always attended together. The sight was jarring. She hadn’t been informed, hadn’t been invited. A pang of hurt pierced her heart.
Scrolling through the images, memories flooded back, childhood laughter, shared secrets, and familial bonds that once seemed unbreakable. Questions swirled in her mind. When had the distance grown so vast? How had they drifted so far apart?
