Jasper’s POV The night in the hospital stretched like an endless corridor with no doors. I sat there, gripping Scarlett’s hand as though my strength alone could tether her to this world. The monitor’s rhythmic beeping had steadied, but every faint stutter or lag felt like a blade slicing into me. My mind was a battlefield of contradictions.
