Prologue

Tears ran down her cheeks as she realized she couldn't do this anymore. She had thought this would be an easy role to play, dress up in some fancy gowns', dance and drink tea, simple. She couldn't have been more wrong. So much more was at stake now, she'd already paid so much for this role. Was it too late to go back? To step away from all this? Of course, she knew the answer, her heart was already so fragile, she felt it would crack. But how could she turn away now? It was already too late, or was it?
