The people chattered excitedly as they speculated who the president was going to award, what family the person would be from, and how the person would look.
Aidan himself was surprisingly very calm as he listened to the people call out the names of outstanding men in the country but his name was never mentioned. As they were led to their seats everyone looked at them in surprise.
“What is that waiter doing? That seat is reserved for the special guest” a lady who seemed to be in her late 40s whispered to her friend who nodded with a frown. People began to whisper.
“Was there a mistake in the name placement?” A man asked looking at Aidan with disdain. How could a nobody get a seat by the president?
“Maybe he is one of the president’s workers, maybe he got lucky” someone else speculate
