“You ain’t furthering anything today, mister.” Violet turned Rory sharply and took his hand, leading him into the trees. With grit teeth and without a glance back, Violet finished with: “Good day, sirs. Thank you again.” Violet walked Rory for quite a while. Neither said a word. Violet had no idea where they were going—in fact they might have been traveling in one, massive circle—but Violet was too blinded by anger to pay any attention.
