Chapter Forty-Five
The four helicopters streaked across the Arizona desert. General Dwain Peck, Director of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRID), rode aboard the first. He looked up and noted that the dozen heavily armed special operations soldiers were sitting quietly, mentally preparing themselves for whatever they might experience on the ground. Dr. Jake Dexter of Argon Technologies accompanied them.
Dr. Dexter had been summoned to the Pentagon two days ago, supposedly to report on the progress of the work Argon Technologies was conducting.
