Chapter Forty-One The headlights came down the road and illuminated the parking lot as the robocar turned into it. Devin stepped forward to meet it, aware of more sirens on the outside of the park. He removed the rain poncho and shook it out as the vehicle stopped in front of him, and the rear door opened. “I’m here for Doctor Matthew Becker,” said a voice from inside the car. “I’m Doctor Matthew Becker.” Devin got into the car. The door shut, and the vehicle turned to leave the park. “Doctor Becker, are we still headed to your home address?” The Virtual Attendant asked. It had already queried the BioChip in Devin’s arm and confirmed the address and payment method on file. “Yes.” “We will arrive in about forty minutes. Would you like to listen to news, sports, or music on the way?”
