Chapter Seven Devin drove the Mustang drove up the freshly plowed driveway that led to the two-story house that belonged to Malcolm Daniels and his family. There were seven other cars parked in the driveway, and the boys recognized four of them as belonging to the Daniels’ family. Devin parked, and they headed to the door. Sawyer knocked, and Scott Daniels, Malcolm’s father, opened the door. Before anything could be said, the Daniels’ dog, Spike, pushed out to see who was there. Spike was a ten-year-old black and white pit bull who weighed close to a hundred pounds. Anyone who didn’t know Spike might be nervous, but once you got to know him, you realized he was one of the most loveable creatures ever made. Both boys had known Spike since he was a puppy and bent down to exchange affection
