Chapter Thirty-One YEAR 2023 The nearly full jetliner landed at Boston’s Logan International Airport. Four hours earlier, it had departed from Brussels, Belgium. Onboard sat a young Army officer assigned to U.S. European Command as a junior information officer. Sawyer Gomez had joined the U.S. Army after graduating from college, and had attended Officer Candidate School (OCS).
