“How are you feeling, Grumpy?” I whisper in her ear while the ceremony takes place.
“Fine, it’s just my period.” I hear her sniffle. I lean in to see that she’s tearing up watching the wedding.
“Why are you crying?” She shrugs.
“It’s so sad, I would hate to see the one I love marry someone else. Do you understand how Marco must be feeling?” I rest my hand on her back to comfort her.
“All we can do is respect his decision, Grumpy. And you’re right, it sucks. It would screw me up, although I’m different. I wouldn’t let someone I care about get away. I’m an i***t and I probably wouldn’t stop insisting until everything goes to hell, but no one’s going to leave me in second place.” She smiles sideways.
