I was still at the window when the clock on my phone showed 1am.The sea was dark and enormous and endlessly patient outside…the kind of water that had been moving for centuries before any of us arrived and would keep moving long after we were gone. It had a particular sound at this hour. Not loud. Not quiet. Something in between that filled the room without asking permission.
I read Aria's message again.
