Friday arrived quicker than Lynn anticipated. She and Alexis arrived at the fertility clinic bright and early for the beta hCG testing. The three-hour wait after the test was torture. They’d gone to the restaurant next door, but neither was able to eat very much.
“I think I’m going to be sick,” Lynn said as she grasped her stomach. She sat down on the exam table in the testing center as they waited for Doctor Rollins. For the past two days, she had constantly been sick. She wasn’t sure whether to take the sickness as a good sign or as a sign that her nerves were getting the best of her.
