Melissa pov

How can Angel think he can get his way with a plate of food and a cheap apology, hummm he doesn’t know what he has been doing all this while has turned me into a hardened woman, if he thinks he can get away with anything he does now simply cos he feels sorry for them then its wrong, i will like to see him try. I was mumbling within myself as i pace up and down my room thinking of possible ways to get to my brother when I remembered i need to call mama before she dies of heart attack cos i havent called to tell her that am fine and all what not. Picking my phone i dailed her number and she picked on the second ring.

Hello mama, i greeted. Am sorry for making you worry so much about me. Am hale and harty and i am back home. I said

‘My child, am glad you are back home but why didnt you call to let us know you have returned? Mama asked and i could sense the worry in her voice.

‘Am sorry mama, i got excited about returning home i totally forgot i was supposed to call you, and i thought Angel most have done that on my stead, i know its not an excuse but still am sorry i made you and papa anxious about me’ I apologized sincerely, mama isn’t feeling well, she has cancer thats the reason they traveled abroad for her chemo and I totally forget that shes going to be worried about me if she didnt hear from me or my brother. I hope i didnt trigger her illness with my stupidity.

‘Its okay my child, i guess Angel made you feel at home probably thats why you forgot about me and your papa. And even if anything happens i will leave knowing that your brother will look after you very well’ she said. ‘Ha mama, please dont talk like that, the last time I checked you are responding to treatment and the doctor said in no time you will be free off cancer and you will be back to us, be rest assured that you will be fine and i will be on my best behavior so you wont have to worry okay?

Okay my darling, i cant wait to see you my child, your papa has already booked our flight back home so say in less than two days we will be home together, i have missed you and your brother so much my child. Do take care of yourself and i will like to have those girly gists with my daughter when i return okay.

Okay mama, I giggled, as I remembered that no matter how busy mama was when i was younger she still created time to listen to me and we had some girl to girl empowerment and i really did miss her. ‘I am waiting for you and papa here so we can have our girl power moments and i will cook all your favorite foods for you okay? I said and been happy i was able to make her laugh.

‘I will have that in mind my child, take care of yourself and your brother too my child, see you soon and i really love you’ she said to me and I couldn’t help but shout my ‘ I love you too mama’ and then the called ended. I felt happy and sad at the same time, i really do hope mama gets better as i do not know how i am going to cope with any other sad news from her side anymore. I laid down on my bed to rest my head but i was restless as it is and I decided to go to the bar downstairs to get some drink since am light headed alcohol was certainly my run to solution when i have a lot to think about.

Floxy pov

Since Angel and his sister had that talk in their father’s study, I noticed that he hasn’t been himself, even though he tries to hide it, i still see it in him that he has something eating him up. I tried to talk to him to open up to me but instead he ended up giving me stories of his childhood moments with his sister. So with the information I gathered i got to know that the way to Melli’s heart is through her stomach and luckily for me the cook was going to be around the next day so we decided to cook her her favorite food which was turkey stew and rice with her favorite homemade strawberry juice. And also every other little details of how she wanted a sister in law and how she felt that her endearment sissy-in-law was better and how she so wants to have one before any tragic news happens since her mother was sick. Paying close attention to all that Angel said i decided to be more understanding and tolerant in my dealings with her so as to make her comfortable with me. But even with the discussion and s*x we had all night, Angel seemed so restless which means he hasn’t really told me what the problem with him was. Sensing that if i kept pestering him to talk to me that he wouldn’t do that, i also decided to give him space maybe on his own accord he will open up to me.

During breakfast Angel received a call from their father asking about Melissa and she not picking call and making him and their mother worried about her, and scolding Angel for not calling them when she arrived and then telling him to tell her to return her calls. As he finished with the call he related the message to her and also scolded her for mot calling their parents, and Melli being the tricky person that she was blamed her brother for not performing his duties as her elder brother. I noticed that their was this strange aura they both exhumed amongst themselves and it wasn’t there yesterday, what could have transpired between them last night, are they having a feud because of me or was something wrong all of a sudden and why cant Angel tell her the truth or what really was the matter as i saw how she walked out on Angel after we had breakfast and i went to the kitchen to care of the dishes while the rested on their sitting room. I have no idea why they are fighting considering the fact that they haven’t seen for a while cos Meli studied abroad and now they were together as a family they still e themselves. Seeing Meli walk inside i knew it was my cue at finding the the problem was between them I hurriedly finished with my chore and left to the sitting room talk to my man.

‘Hey honey, how do you do i asked sitting on his lap and throwing my hands around him, waiting for my response at once.

Am fine babe. He replied still not ‘fine’ as he said.

I looked at him from head to toe and then i knew something was definitely making him worry and i will find out.
