“Juss…”
Despair rose in my throat like bile, threatening to overwhelm me but I swallowed it though the sheer force of will.
The worst had finally happened. The very thing I had been afraid of.... There was nothing I could do. Fate had decided this herself. As soon as I came to this decision, I felt a sort of inner peace.
I had thought about what to do, over and over again, something that wouldn’t affect either of us, but there was nothing. For Eggust and I, there was only one solution, one destination for our journey.
“It was never meant to be in the first place, and what was not meant to be never had a happy ending.” I heard myself say.
