As it turned out, Caroline made her visit to the vicarage, but not in the manner and under the circumstances she’d originally intended. Holly Armstrong died of a severe heart attack, and the following day, the village was abuzz about a second death so soon after poor Elspeth’s suicide.
The following week, Vicar Crandall presided over what some villagers termed a lavish funeral service, with seemingly endless flower arrangements, and the church choir in full attendance.
