Chapter 11

I laid my head in the dungeon, crushed and all stumped up. This was actually the end. Who would go up against the Vikings now. "Hey, if you don't have something to eat now, you might not eat anything else today" a guard informed Cornelius Cornelius leaned forward to take his food - not like it was enough to be called food. "This is just one slice of tomatoes and too little to be called bread" Cornelius protested "You should be thankful. I see no reason why his Majesty asked us to put you in this special cell with just you in" "I assume he mentioned I should be given good food too" Cornelius mocked "You can eat what you've got or leave it for the rats. It's your call" Cornelius raised his eyebrows, threw a glance at the food, and snorted with disgust. (I guess I'm pretty much going to die of starvation. This place is horrible. Its more like hell on earth) "I wonder what Katherine is doing" *** The atmosphere reeked of blood, dead bodies and starvation. Alaskiriba was deteriorating, and at an incredibly fast rate. Katherine however was still alive, taking care of the remaining villagers who had not caught the flu, or died of hunger. There wasn't much left to eat, but the little Katherine could scrounge up from nearby villages was used wisely. "Have a slice Derek. You haven't had anything to eat for days" katherine suggested "I have a young lad who needs food. I can't let him die of hunger" he cried "He won't. You both can have this" she replied Katherine threw a deep gaze into the sky, looked away, and turned back to see the agony Alaskiriba was facing. She went inside her tent to get chalks and candles, then used the chalk to draw her higher self, and lit up the candles, placing them in front of her image. "Spirits, when is this going to end? We've been in this misery for long. We as a Village have done nothing but obey all your commands. Everything - not a single one left out, and this is how you pay us back. I shouldn't have said that, I'm so sorry. Please forgive my improper words. I believe this is to test our faith, but when is it going to end?" Katherine prayed, in tears. "I miss Cornelius so much", she added, "He failed to listen, now he's in the hands of the Vikings, that's if he isn't burnt to ashes by now. I hate to be pessimistic, but I can't help but feel terrified. I'm scared, spirits. Cornelius, which should be with me now, in times of suffering, could be dead or in captivity. And no one is there to save him. The village is in ruins, we're living off of scraps. Oh spirits, when are you coming in. When is the NC going to save us from this" Katherine's tears were defiant, and out of control. She wept as though the Vikings had took over the whole Village. Her body quavered, eyes as though they were bulging out of place, her knees lost its strength, her skin turned subtle, and her mouth brought out fire. "Oh no. Katherine's in the Rava state" Derek screamed. "She's going to deface the whole village" another person yelled. "Like what we have left could be called a village" a young man said, sarcastically "Whatever. She would tear down what is left of Alaskiriba, and we won't have anywhere to stay" "Quit sillying around and let's stop her" Derek said, at the top of his voice. The two others gripped her both hands, while Derek covered her mouth with a thick cloak. The cloak wasn't going to hold on much longer, so Derek had to stop her, and the only way to stop a priestess in the Rava state was to get into her mind, and convince her that everything is alright. The Rava state was adaptation to extreme fear, and could only be accessed by priestess's. Derek knew that, it became clear to him what he had to do. "Katherine, I know Alaskiriba isn't in its best condition now, and how much you want to do to save this village. You may think our prayers were to no avail, and that the spirits have deserted us, but that's not true. These times were predicted by the Great Priest, your father. He also prophesied that the NC will rise up. Just have faith. Cornelius is not dead. We saw these signs - look at the sky. Look at that cloud in form of Cornelius's sword. He's alive, Katherine. He is!" Katherine roared her last breath of fire, her body relaxed, and she fell into the arms of Derek. "I can't believe I almost ruined what we have left" her voice was full of remorse. "But you didn't, did you?" he giggles. Katherine sighed, looked at the sky once more, and said "So you think this is a sign?" Derek got to his feet, fixed his gaze on the clouds while replying "I believe it is. Cornelius is still alive" *** "Hey brave man, take your clothes off" gay guard ordered. "What" Cornelius gasped "You heard me the first time. I want to have a taste of your d**k" "No way in hell I'm letting your hands on me" "You kind of don't have a choice" gay guard replied. The guard got into the dungeon, took his armor off, leaned forward attempting to kiss Cornelius. (This could be my way out) Cornelius thought Cornelius leans in, and their lips touch. They kiss passionately, passionately enough for Cornelius to get his hands on the keys, and shove it into his clothes... "What the fuck.....I didn't see this. Cornelius, the king requests for you" another guard came in.
