The Viking's palace was looking rather unusual - at least this part of the palace. It seemed to be some kind of dark hole where prisoners are tortured in the palace. Even as dark as this place was, the King's presence was evident. He wore a dark red linen woven in fine fabric, having with him in his hand - some kind of metal with spikes all over. His eyes were normal, but visible enough for Cornelius to see in the darkness.
As Cornelius was before the king in this dark hole like place, he couldn't help but feel confused.
(What does he want this time) he thought
The king signaled to the guards who brought in Cornelius to leave them alone, arrogantly gave out a wide grin - glancing at Cornelius.
"You are without doubt wondering what you're doing here. No actually, you could be wondering what the both of us are doing here alone"
"If you're going to kill me, get on with it already" Cornelius replied
"Oh Cornelius. What happened to your ego, your bravery, and that tough man spirit. You giving up on life already?"
The king walked up to Cornelius, wiped off his face with his hand, and licked it. As much as this made Cornelius nausea-ish, he was more concerned of what was going on than puking because the king licked his sweat.
"I have better plans for you Cornelius - great plans indeed" the king said, making so much eye contact with Cornelius.
"What plans?" Cornelius was in pure confusion at this time
The king took out the piece of metal, and illustrated
"You might think this is just a piece of metal. No it isn't my dear Cornelius. This is a piece of metal that contains tremendous amount of dark magic made by one of our finest sorcerers"
(Oh f**k. The myth can't be true. This is the f*****g metal our ancestors told us stories about. One didn't know it was not just a myth. These f*****g vikings never cease to be out of surprises) Cornelius thought
The king was psychic, and could feel what Cornelius was thinking.
"Yes Cornelius. This is the metal everyone in your small village has been saying was a myth. It's right here in the Vikings kingdom, right in my hands, and if you comply, it would be in your grasps too. Oh wait, you really don't have a choice. You have to comply"
This piece of metal could stir up old, painful memories, and do much more. When used the right way, it would bring t*****e, immeasurable torment leading to a state of despair for the victim. Cornelius knew all these - at least from all the stories he heard.
Cornelius eyes bulged out at the sight of the metal, his skin got instantly itchy, at the same time, the temperature of the room felt like it had gone higher, like a thousand more degree higher.
"Please don't.... don't use that metal on me" Cornelius pleaded
"I would love to not use it on you, but if I don't, you won't do as I say"
"I will. Whatever you want me to do Your Majesty, I'd get it done"
"Ha ha I don't believe you. A taste of this metal would change you forever, turning you into a viking beast"
Cornelius grinded his teeth against each other, groaning heavily in pain, as the metal pierced through his chest.
"What do you wa--nt fr--om...." Cornelius said, panting heavily, feeling great pain.
"Oh what I want from you. Its simple - be broken, be my faithful servant, defeat the rest of Alaskiriba, and return to me, serving me all the days of your life. Oh and, you haven't started feeling the metal's torment yet. You haven't even gone past the first level of t*****e"
"I won't let you get what you want" Cornelius yelled
