"Mom, I'm glad you're back."
I kissed mom.
"I know, thank you honey. It's just that we had some problems with the client and we weren't able to go home in time."
I nodded even though I'm still thinking about how it is so easy for them to let grandma be alone.
"How about dad? Is he well?"
"He's a bit tired so he went straight to the mansion."
Mom and I were still talking while grandma was asleep. It's been exactly a week since grandma was confined at the hospital. She's getting worse each day. There are more chances that he doesn't know me.
"Where's Echo?" she asked.
My lips went flatline. I don't know how I'm going to answer that question of his.
"He's probably busy with the company."
"He's still out of town?"
