Amanda
The light filtering through the curtains made me wince as I opened my eyes. For a second, I thought I was in my bed, like every other normal day leading to the wedding where I had woken up, happy and excited and counting down the days to my big day.
It was the bed that gave it away, the four poster monstrosity was so alien that it brought my memories rushing back.
I scrambled out of the bed in horror and looked around the elaborate room.
Just as I was about to start screaming my lungs out and hyperventilating, I heard the door lock turn and Dante walked in. I felt foolish for not even bothering to check if the doors were locked, my first brilliant idea being to start screaming.
I didn’t know exactly what time it was, but from the soft light entering the room, I could guess it was morning. It could have been the morning of the day after my supposed wedding or a week later, I had no idea. I wondered how Freddie was feeling right now. I hoped he knew I had been kidn*pped and not that I had pulled a run away bride on him. I hoped he was at this moment using the full might of the Blooming family to search for me or at least get some answers.
Because I had none. Just a whole bunch of questions.
I didn’t know where I was or why I had been taken. All I did know was that Dante was overdressed in a navy suit for this hour of the day. It was then that I finally looked down at my own self and gasped.
My perfect wedding dress had been replaced by a blue dress, it was midi length with thick straps and fit to my body like a glove. Whoever this dress belonged to had my exact body build. I refused to think about the second chilling possibility that someone had taken my measurement and gone shopping for me all while I was asleep.
“I don’t even want to know who undressed me.” I glared at him. He had better not have had his hands anywhere near my naked body.
“I see you’re awake” he said, instead of replying me. “And not feeling any side effects. Good.”
Fuck this guy. I couldn’t believe I had ever lusted over him. “You drugged me.” I accused.
He c****d his head, eyes shining at me. “I did, didn’t I?”
I just glared at him. I wanted to punch him in his stupid blank face. That would mess his face up enough that no other sane woman would be falling in lust and getting kidn*pped in the nearest future.
The aura of power, feline grace and danger that poured off this man was incredible. Every inch of him seemed like it had been honed as a weapon. I was finally seeing the sleek muscled form for what it was. Where previously it had been the evidence of a man who took care of himself well, now it was the build of a man made for destruction. “Good morning miss Wilde.”
“Morning?” I asked. “How long have I been asleep?”
“It seems you were exhausted. I put you to sleep for an hour and you slept through the whole night.”
I knew why. I hadn’t slept well in a over a week, nerves had wracked and wringed me dry. I had warned Freddie that I was going to spend our wedding night catching up on all the sleep I had lost. He had laughed and agreed that our wedding night would be turned into a sleeping date, after all we had the rest of our lives to reenact the wedding night. That was Freddie, he was always kind, nice, understanding. He was the chilliest guy I had ever met. It was no wonder that I had fallen for him.
That was all beside the point though. There were questions I needed answers to, desperately.
“Why am I here? Are you into some kind of trafficking something? Are you going to sell me to the highest bidder? Who the hell are you anyway, because I’m finding it almost impossible to believe that you’re Dante the regular business man.” I fired at him. I didn’t think he was going to answer though.
He studied me for what seemed like a lifetime. “You’re here because I’m here and your place is by my side. I’m not into trafficking and the highest bidder is me, so it’s useless to put you up for bid anyway. I’m actually a business man.” He paused before amusement turned the corners of his lips upwards. “just not the regular type of business.”
I snorted, arms folded. “Do they pay you to spout all that mysterious s**t?”
What did he mean by my place was by his side. I was even more confused than before I had asked questions.
“I’m self employed.” He said. I couldn’t shake the feeling that he was laughing at me. I ended that line of questioning.
“My father, what did you do to him?” I demanded.
“Your father was truly late for your wedding . None of my doing.”
For some reason, I believed him. What did he have to gain from lying to me anyway? And it did check out honestly. My father was known for being notoriously late.
“Look, I don’t know what this is. All of this. One night stands generally don’t show up six years later to kidnap the bride out of her own wedding. Maybe you caught some feelings. It’s okay.” It was weird as hell is what it was. “But this isn’t the way to go about it. I have people out there that are worrying about me. Family, my friends, Freddie, my…”
His face hardened "Freddie?” he cut in. “You belong to me Wilde. Or have you forgotten?”
I stared at him in confusion. “Forgotten what?”
He suddenly reached out and grabbed my left arm, lightning quick, too fast for me to realize what was happening till my hand was in his.
“that we are engaged.” He said finally.
Shock raced through me. What the f**k?
“I asked you to marry me, and you said yes.” He said, fingers tracing my ring fingers.
I gaped at him, stunned. It was true that in the haze of passion on that single night we had spent together, Dante had asked me to marry him. And I had said yes, laughing, drunk on orgasms. Caught up in the fantasy of the moment. I hadn’t meant it of course.
“I didn’t… I mean…w-we didn’t mean any of that.” I stammered.
He reached out and touched my face his expression softening. “but I did, bella, I meant every word of it.”
I looked down at my hand and saw that my rings were gone. Oh God. “that’s it. You’re a sick, mad man.” I scrambled away from his touch.
“Frederick Blooming will not give you what you need and you know it.” Dante said, voice hard. “He doesn’t have what you need.”
“And what do u think I need?” I let out a low bitter laugh.“You don’t even know me. You spent one night with me and you think you know everything, hunh? Newsflash, you don’t.”
“I know you. I know that you need to be dominated.Possessed. Worshipped. Frederick is a boy. One who you and every other person can shape into what you want. Even you must know that his sad attempt at love will never be enough for you.”
“This sounds a lot like a pissing contest. Well aren’t you going to bring Freddie to state his own points? Because it hardly seems fair to me that you’re the one holding all the cards.”
“He was given time to show his own points and he failed miserably. I’ve watched you for years, Amanda and Frederick didn’t make you happy. You can admit that much.”
He had watched me for years? A terror like no other infused my body. He was crazy. I was in the hands of a crazy person. Who the f**k watched their one night stand for years? The whole point of a one night stand was once and done. “I let out a deranged laughter. “this isn’t real. None of this is real. I’m going to wake up in Freddie’s arms any moment from now in our…”
My words trailed off at the ominous growl rumbling from his throat. I was many things, but a fool wasn’t one of them. That was a pretty clear warning and I didn’t need to be told twice.
His expression was cold and forbidding. I suddenly wished I could take back my words, terrified of what his reaction would be.
I didn’t know what I had been expecting, but it wasn’t him dragging me into his body. “mine.” He growled just before his mouth crashed down on mine.
