Late Customer

Kay had sat for a long time after her boys had left just thinking. It bugged her that she couldn't convince them to leave the streets alone. After a while she began cleaning up laughing at that stupid gesture they would do ever since they realized kissing their mom on the lips wasn't cool with girls. It made her smile as she walked to the back of the salon to gather the broom and dustpan. As she came back to the front she noticed Sincere had left his hoodie over the chair, "oh Saint." She smiled as she began folding it up placing it on top of her handbag so she wouldn't forget it. She had swept up most of the dirt when she heard the knocking on the door. "Sorry, we closed." The knocking didn't stop so she turned around to see who it was. It wouldn't have been either of the boys because they had their keys. She came to the front to see a girl standing at the door with her hair a complete mess. "Come back tomorrow baby. I'll be open early." Kay told the poor girl who looked desperate for her help. The girl didnt move. "I have a birthday dinner to get to and I'm already late. Help me out please." The girl pleaded as she took a glance at her phone. 'Probably to check the time.' Kay thought. She had no reason to rush to the house. The boys wont be there til the wee hours of the morning no way. She might as well stay back and do something she loved. Kay opened the door just wide enough for the girl to fit through before pulling it close. As she locked back the door the young girl took a quick glance around the shop. "Sorry to bother you." She smiled at Kay as she typed into her phone. "It's alright. My sons are the reason I was here so late anyway." The girl looked at the pictures on her mirror of both men and blushed. "Their gorgeous." She said as she sat down. Kay placed the cape around her neck before taking her tools out and started trying to tame the hair on top of the girl's head.
