Six months later….

The entire hall was exclusively decorated with round golden tables, adorable flowers, expensive foods and wines well set on the tables. Also, beautiful flowers are used to decorate places like the hallway, the podium and some small sized places on each guest table.

Ryan walked in with Ruby, followed by two hefty men guarding them. If it was not that the occasion is hosted by his close friend, who had also promised maximum security, Ryan would normally go to such places with loads of guards. As a billionaire heir, he doesn't joke around with safety.

He knows better than to allow business rivalry to launch an attack and catch him off guard.

The last time a business rival attacked his convoy, thank goodness he went out with his bodyguards. When things got to a crucial point, he had to step down and use his own karate skills on the enemy and they won.

“Hey man, it's so good to see you again.”

A voice called out from the right, and they all turned in that direction. Ryan's face immediately lit up as he saw the person.

“Yo, Kieran. It's a pleasure to be here.” Ryan responds as they both exchange a tight handshake, smiling at each other face to face.

After releasing his hand, Ryan said, gesturing towards Ruby, who seemed to be lost in Kieran's eyes.

“Hey Ruby, you're looking breathtaking… Dan has been talking about you for a long time. I'm so glad to finally meet you.”

“Hm, thanks. Congratulations on your new success.” She said briefly, avoiding his gaze.

“Welcome, come have a seat.” Kieran said, offering them to a round table nearby, surrounded by silver chairs. “I'll be back shortly.” He said as he walked away, his Italian shoe knocking the red carpet as his muscles threatened to pierce through the tight suit.

“Looks like a rose is falling today.”

Ryan smiled and said, “you can deny it but your red cheeks can tell.”

“Huh, it must be that bad fever,” She replied, touching her flushed cheek carefully and they both erupted into a hearty laughter.

‘Goodness, he's too charming for my liking. Is that how he smiled at every woman or…did he like me?’ she muttered, unconsciously, although her voice is low, one could assume she was interested in the expression on her face.

“Do you need something?”

“No.” Ruby responded casually.

Ryan had told her earlier that he needed to talk with a potential client abroad.

“Do you like me?”

Ruby choked on the wine she was sipping and Kieran immediately offered her his limited edition handkerchief, with LVMH embroidered on it.

“Huh…I don't think so, you look much like someone from my past…ehm, someone I wish I would never see again.”

“Really?” Kieran looked disappointed.

“Huh, don't get me wrong. He's a nobody that treated me badly in the past, and that was in the past. It has nothing to do with you, Kieran.

His fair face lit up a bit. “Oh, I see…”

Kieran smiled absurdly as silence grew between them for a while.

In that moment, Ruby remembered Shira's cute face, how innocent her baby looks and a deep feeling of joy crept into her heart, but when Eitan suddenly crossed his mind, her face became slightly sober.

‘Cheer up, Ruby.’ She told herself. After all, we have a family now, and Toby has promised to always look after Shira anytime I'm away.’

After a while,. Kieran finally broke the silence.

“Be my fiancé.” Kieran's voice broke out aloud, attracting a lot of attention from other attendees.

‘Is that not Mr. Bush. One of the most adorable bachelors in the city.’

‘Omg, he's so charming. I would do anything to have him.’

‘What is she waiting for? She's not even up to his level.’

‘Yes, she's a nobody.’

Single ladies from the tables around kept whining at the unfolding scene.

“This is absurd, Kieran. I didn't even know you like that.” Ruby smirked, her eyes darting around in embarrassment.

“None of that matters for now, Ruby. I know what I want and I never go wrong with my heart. You're my dream…

“Stop! You can't engage her. She belongs to me.”

All necks turn towards the direction.

“My name is Eitan Koe. Who are you?” Eitan snorted aloud.

“Eitan, I thought you were getting married.”

“It's all a rumor.”

“Now you have to follow me. Where's our child?”

‘Oh, poor lady. She had a baby and she’s trying to seduce Mr. Hale.’

Having said that, Eitan grabbed her waist.

“Let me go.” Ruby said frantically, struggling to free herself from his tight grip.

‘How come nobody knows Mr. Koe is married, and even had a baby.’

‘It must be that that wretched lady drugged him to sleep with him.’

‘That must be very true.’

The netizens keep rambling on and at this point, Ruby felt totally embarrassed and helpless. She looked at Kieran as if asking for help but it didn't look like he was going to interfere, since he didn't really know her yet and hearing that she had a baby he was still shocked and confused.

“Release her now!” A cold unwavering voice caught everyone's attention.

‘Oh, Mr. Waugh is here too?’ A lady chimed in a tiny voice.

It is no news that Ryan is the sole heir of the Waugh family and he's been trending for years on Forbes, although he is already married, many ladies still wished they could get a chance.

“Oh, Mr. Waugh. I think this is a misunderstanding, this is Ruby and she's my…” He couldn't finish his speech before Ryan interrupted him abruptly, “Ex-wife.”

Eitan couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed, and his subconscious mind started working.

‘Was she already telling everyone that we're divorced? But, most people don't even know we're married in the first place. What is the relationship between Mr. Waugh and Ruby? Has she been cheating on me all these years? Even with a married man? She's really unbelievable.’ Eitan thought as he kept sizing Ruby from hair to toe making her uncomfortable and wanted to disappear.

Everyone was gobsmacked as Ruby ran into Ryan's embrace, the netizens kept murmuring under their breath, nobody dared to gossip about Ryan since how powerful he is, they feared he could order all of them locked up with just a snap of a finger.

Eitan was also shocked to see his now ex-wife in another man's embrace, too bad he's not someone he could mess with.

“Mr. Waugh, Ruby is a poor rat, if not for the Koe family she wouldn't have survived the last three years. I don't know what she might have told you but please don't fall for her tricks.” Rachel said, curling up around Eitan and placing her hand on his chest.

“And who are you to tell me who I should be seen with?” Ryan cut in sharply.
