I WAS STILL shaken from the howl and although Thea whimpered, wanting to join in the shift and be free, I stamped her back. I was still feeling self conscious and insecure about the rumors following my wolf, so I stumbled away blindly. More people in the pack were joining the howl, I got to the mouth of the woods and finally gave in to my animal instinct, allowing Thea to break free.
The shift was painful, because I was fighting against it, and it was not as natural as it should be. I had only shifted twice before. But in a few seconds, the wave of pain passed and I was standing on my 4 paws.
It was like a new sensation for me. My hearing was improved, my night vision too, everywhere was brighter.
"It feels so good," Thea said and I agreed. She got into a slow jog
