Jake
That was the longest forty-five minutes of my life. I dropped Sam off at the dog park and drove down the block to a pink old Victorian house that was in desperate need of repairs. The owner had also asked about interior work and I informed him that the warmer months we do roofs and in the winter we do interior work. Its how I keep money in my workers pockets. Have to be flexible with the weather.
I set him up to get the roof done next week and I told him to give me a call in a month or two to get him set up with some drywall work. His wife had bought the house a few weeks back because she liked the idea of a Victorian for a summer home. Rich people. They kept me in business but I liked blue collar folks a whole lot better.
I waved goodbye to the man and headed down to the dog park where I had left Sam and Fin. I parked my truck and headed to the entrance. Once I was in it only took me a second to spot Sam.
Her and Fin were on the obstical course. They were killing it too. Sam ran around as Fin completed every task effortlessly. He watched her every move. The way her legs would shift or to where her hands pointed to. They were a team and you could see the passion behind them.
I lean up against a tree and watch the duo practice but it looked more like they were playing.
Sam stops in her tracks and so does Fin. He stands next to her with his head held high looking straight at her. Sam takes 2 steps back, Fin does the same. She sprints forward suddently and Fin follows. It was like they danced and Sam was always the lead. Fin followed like the faithful companion he was. Looking up to his master with confidents and joy.
Sam pats her chest and the little dog launches up and runs up her body till he's safely in her arms. Both of them are panting slightly but both have smiles on their faces.
Sam carries Fin over to a tree on the other side of the grounds. She sets him down and pets his head as he sits. With my strong hearing I can hear her praise him for a job well done and the little dog is eating it all up. Enjoying every second of the good boy belly rubs.
Sam grabs the extra bag she brought and pulled out a water bottle and a collapsible bowl and fills it for Fin.
I watch the two interact as I lean against the tree. Enjoying every second of just watching her be herself. Sam stands up straight as Fin laps up the water from the bowl.
As Sam stretches. Her black tank top rises up to expose the most beautiful porcelain skin I had ever seen. It was soft and smooth, making me want to run over to her and kiss every inch of it.
I take in her whole body as she stretches out her muscles. The way her legs are a mile long and look even longer in those tiny shorts. The way her long hair is slipping out of her braid and falling down past her shoulders.
The obnoxious growl starts up again and I pry my eyes away from Sam to see Fin is doing his normal snarling glare at me from across the opening.
"Damn dog." I say but I instantly feel bad. He's doing the right thing. Protecting the most important thing in his life and that's Sam. He just doesn't know that we have more in common than he thinks. I would die for her and I met her yesterday. Shadow is obsessed with her and was pissed all night about her and her husband having s*x. They're married and aren't doing anything wrong. Sam has no clue that we're her mate. She has no clue about the super natural world. She doesn't understand the way I will always look at her but Fin does. He loves her as much as anyone can. She isn't even mine yet but I already know I'd kill someone for just looking at her with lust in their eyes.
She was only mine to think about that way.
Yeah you and her husband. Shadow reminds me with bitterness in every word.
I choose to ignore him because I don't need that negative energy right now. I'm with my girl and we're spending time together. I couldnt be any happier unless she kissed me and lets me mark her as ours but that's some pretty high expectations.
"Hey Jake!" She waves at me well walking my way with Fins bag on her shoulder and a big smile on her lips. Fin follows along with a little less pep in his step than earlier. She must have really worn him out.
"Hey. You guys have fun?" I ask her as I walk to meet her in the middle of the course.
"Ohmygosh yes! I want to come back here more and Fin really seemed to like it." Sam said as she stood infront of me. I loved how tall she was. It was perfect height to me. I was tall even for a werewolf but Sam was perfect height for me to kiss without having to bend down too much.
"I'll bring you back here whenever you want." I tell her as I grab Fins bag from her shoulder as we head back to the truck. Sam blushes as she let's me take it from her and I needed to see more of her doing that.
The bag was heavier than I thought it was. "Whats in this thing? It's pretty loaded for a dogs bag." I ask her.
Sam smiles up at me for a second before she bends down to put a leash on Fin before we exit out of the park.
"All of Fins stuff. His water, back up food, bowls. Toys, treats, and whatever else he might need."
"So like a diaper bag but for a dog?" I ask her well trying to supress a laugh. How could a dog possibly need all of those things. Wolves chase rabbits and play tag to entertain themselves. This house dog is too spoiled.
"Well yeah I guess it is." Sam tells me as she laughs a little. "As silly as it sounds, he's pretty much my kid."
"I get that, do you want kids one day? Fin helping you get ready for them?" I ask as I open the passanger side door for her.
Sam looks lost for a second before answering "I'd love kids one day but I can't have them." Her voice had suddently dropped more down to a whisper and it tore my heart in half hearing her speak so sadly. Then she glances back at me with a fake small smile on her lips. "More specifically Zack and I can't have kids" Her eyes meet mine and I can see that sadness.
"What do you mean?"
"The doctors say we can't reproduce. Our bodies aren't ment to together." She looks down at Fin whose sitting patiently by her feet. Without another word she pats the floor board and Fin jumps in and she follows. Once she's in her seat, I close the door and go to the driver's side.
I fire up the truck and pull out of the parking lot to head to the only grocery store in town.
Samantha speaks first breaking the tension. "Im sorry for that. I didn't mean to bring all that up. Just still a little too fresh. The doctors told us a little bit ago but it still hurts." Sam pets Fins head as he rest it on her knee. He's trying to comfort his owner and you can see it helps her just having him there.
"Its totally okay. I get it. I've always wanted to have kids but I just havnt found the right one to have them with." I answered her honestly. I didn't mind her opening up to me. I didn't mind being there when she needed to vent. I don't like seeing her sad but there's comfort behind how vulnerable she just was around me.
I can't help but take a glance at her, when I do I see her looking at me. "So there's never been the girl who got away then?" She asks lightening the mood some.
"Nope. Thought about it with one women but she didn't turn out to be there for me in return." I answered. I didn't want to go into details about the shewolf who betrayed the mating bond and in return I went feral. Not my best moment by far but in return I got Sam and she's way better even if she is married.
Sasha was a materialic b***h who decided to sleep with the higher ups within the pack to get what she wanted. A good status and the wealth that follows. Sam's not like that. I met her yesterday and I already know she's better than that.
"You'll find her. Your a good guy." Sam says well flashing me a smile.
I return the smile as I park my truck in the shade.
"I promise I won't be long. I'm a fast shopper." Samantha tells me as she grabs her purse. She looks down at Fin who is getting wound up just by the sight of her grabbing her things. "No Fin. Your gonna stay with Jake. Be a good boy."
Fin glanced between me and her and I swear he let out a sigh.
I smirk at Sam and she smiles back at me. Us both hearing the little dogs sassy behavior.
"I'll be fast!" Sam tells me again.
"Dont worry about it. Get what you need, we'll be right here." I reassure her.
I watch her tight perfect ass as she walks into the store not being able to help myself. It was perfect and round with thick thighs. I loved the way her body was. She'd look great pregnant with my pups as well but I kept that to myself.
I look around the truck and my eyes land on Fin who is staring daggers at me.
"Do we want to get this over with?" I question him and raise a brow.
Fin huffs at me and jumps into the passanger seat to stare out the window.
"Your going to have to get use to me little man. Your mom doesn't know it yet but I'm her fated mate." I continue talking to the K9.
Fin looks back at me and shakes his head as if he's telling me there's no way in hell that's gonna happen.
I reach over to him and try to pet his back but before I can he spins around and growls fiercely at me, showing all of his teeth. Really putting on a show. I glance around and notice no one is near.
I turn my full attention back to him and I let Shadow take over.
I can feel my eyes turn black and my mouth start to stretch out as Shadow returns the snarled look back to Fin. My nose is now replaced with a wolf's muzzles showing off Shadows large and sharp teeth.
The little dog backs up to the truck door and submits to us. He rolls over exposing his belly, his softest part of his body showing he's no threat to the actual beast.
I pull Shadow back in and I can feel my face returning to normal.
"Now can we be civilized? " I ask him as if he understands.
I try again to reach over and pet Fin, this time he flinched lightly then allows me to stroke his soft fur.
"Good boy." I tell him.
I continue to pet Fin as I look around the strip mall that the grocery store was in and my eyes land on the ice cream shop.
"Want to go get some ice cream well we wait for your mom?" I ask him as if he's an actual child I'm trying to impress.
Fin jumps up and wags his little nub in excitement.
Guess I'm taking a dog to go get ice cream. Never did I think this is what I'd have to do to win my mate over but here we go.
