The silence in the car hummed, filled with the soft rumble of the engine and Cassandra’s quiet presence beside me. Sitting across from her, Jamie and Theo exchanged wary glances, their tension palpable even in the confined space of the territory car.
Cassandra, of course, looked utterly unfazed, her delicate Omega mask perfectly intact. She was placing a shadow crystal carefully into her robes—a small, casual movement that carried an undercurrent of mystery I couldn’t ignore.
