Chapter 48: Bluffing
(Cassandra's POV)
Professor Yula's sharp, discerning eyes swept over the nearly empty classroom, moving slowly, as though searching for answers in the silence. Most of the students had already filed out, their hushed whispers lingering faintly in the air.
I remained in my seat, calm and focused, running my fingertips absentmindedly across the yellowed pages of the ancient grimoire before me.
“Miss Cassandra,” Professor Yula called, his voice firm but tinged with concern. “A moment, please.”
I looked up, matching his gaze with a calm, neutral expression. “Of course, Professor.”
The remaining students shuffled out quickly, throwing me cautious, curious glances. The tension in the room thickened as the heavy door clicked shut, leaving us alone.
