chapter 2

Carla's pov

I'm going to be 20 in a couple weeks! I can't believe how time just flies on by! I've lived on my own since I was a young girl. I was badly abused throughout my teen years. One day I woke up and thought , enough is enough and I had had it! pack my s**t and left my family! I found this little town a few hours away from my family. It's beautiful out here! very small and kept to themselves. with only a bank, a church, a coffee shop, a bank and a restaurant in town. The population was only about 900 to 1000 people. To shop for groceries it was about a 25 minute drive and 1.5 hours to the nearest city for all them girls who spend hundreds of dollars on dresses and makeup!

I had a steady job at our local restaurant. I got to meet and greet almost everyone! Everyone knows each other. so note to self ...keep to yourself or else everyone will find out! The last time this town found out anything was when me and my ex broke up! Everyone knew he was a rightful son of a b***h and an arrogant asshole! but he was handsome .. Probably one of the most handsome fellas I've seen in this town!

Today was no different than any other day. I got up at 7:30am got dressed in my work clothes and made coffee. As I finished pouring my cup of coffee ,my phone rang. Work was calling me?

I picked up the phone and Cody was on the line

hey Carly ?! I know this is last minute but boss man told me to call you to ask you if you can pull a double shift today? Cody asked.

ummm. well... and with 2 second pause I finally answered. sure!

OMG GREAT THANK YOU AND I OWE YOU BIG TIME. Cody shouted!

As I made my way out of the door and walked down the street, I stopped at a local seller who had been trying so hard to sell off his flowers for any special occasion.

*sniff sniff* mmmm they smell so amazing! scent of sweet nectar ,carly whispers to herself softly. As Carly stood up she felt this eerie feeling. like someone was watching her from afar. As I felt a small trickle of water fall on my button nose I began to walk to work and as suspected My ex was here ... waiting on me....

Ugh.. What do you want asshole.... I said out loud.

Chill girl, I just want to hang out with you... maybe tonight? Max asked and continued

since it's raining now maybe we can Netflix and chill?

Ew Netflix and chill? grow up Max! I would never give myself to you. I spat out at him!

no no I know! that will not happen until I marry you .. got it.. loud and clear! so Harry potter? me...you...potter...tonight? - Max pushed out of his mouth.

I could tell it was torture for him to even consider watching Harry Potter movies as he hated them and I LOVE THEM! It was the one thing he couldn't stand in our relationship. But I haven't watched them in a couple months so it was a little bit hard to say no to that! and it was more tempting knowing he was going to suffer for hours , having to sit beside me and refuse his touching and watching Harry Potter.

Harry Potter was my go to escape! I've always been a fan of fantasy worlds. Living with such amazing and beautiful creatures like the hippagrif and doby. I mean who wouldn't want to see , touch and live with such amazing beings! what gets me more is the magic! no wands and magic isn't what I'm talking about. but the thought of everything just what you see is magical!

With all the thoughts going through my head and taking orders and delivering to every table, the lights suddenly fade. I looked around and realized it was closing time! wow how everything just passed me by being in my head and in a fantasy world!

I clean up the last table and suddenly knocking at the front door! I jumped in fear as it was storming out and well have you never heard of nightmare on Elm Street and Jason .. ugh it was definitely a jump scare moment. only to realize that Max was waiting for me *face palm*

Max was a jock like kinda guy! Popular, All the young women wanted him! he sure was the most attractive guy in town! but still wasn't enough to get in my bed with me! we were together for almost 2 years! but he was nothing but arrogant,selfish and an asshole! He always knew the woman wanted him! And obviously acted like it too!

I left him because his ego was bigger than the news! I couldn't handle it any more. He thought and kinda knew he was pretty to look at! it was almost a vomit session every time he would look in a mirror. The gym was his priority and well let's be honest .... The fact that he would drive over an hour every day to watch himself in a mirror working out then pretty much kissing his biceps made me want to strangle myself more and more.

As the night went on I could see in Max's face he wanted nothing to do with spending another minute watching Harry Potter. I couldn't help but burst into laughter inside my head! So much so that I had to put a hand over my mouth before letting it slip out !

Are you alright? you look like you need to s**t bad! I asked him as I tried to compose myself.

Yeah... I'm just tired, I think I'm gonna just go home since you won't really do anything with me. max replied as he lost all hope of any s****l activity!

As Max left my place ,I again had an eerie feeling of someone watching me from afar.

who and what did they want from me? is all I had in mind. I looked out of the windows and couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. What made it even more eerie ,was this town was a complete ghost town after hours.

I looked around my appartment as I started to feel a little paranoid. "Deep breath Carly" I said to myself keeping myself composed. I shut off all my lights , brushed my teeth and washed my face then off to bed I went.

Carly!! a soft whisper came to me. I looked around and everything seemed blurry like a dream. MATE! ... again hearing a faint voice behind me. who is there? I asked. no response .

as I turned around I see a big dark shadow figure standing amongst the tree line.

I jolted out of my bed and realised it was just a dream. MATE? WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT REALLY MEAN? who the hell said that? I asked myself. as I turn in my bed my thoughts were going a million miles per second. confused and wondering wtf I just dreamt about and who.
