Maya’s POV
The video on my phone kept playing. Mr Havisham smiled while talking about making my death look like an accident. My body turned ice cold. Liam held me tighter in bed but I could not stop shaking. He really killed my sister, now he wants to kill me too. Tomorrow night at the warehouse. I cannot go but if I do not they will send all the videos everywhere.
Liam turned off the phone. “We will not let him touch you,” he said in a strong voice. “Stay home tomorrow. I will handle this.”
I nodded but fear still filled my chest. We fell asleep holding each other. The next morning I went to work even though every part of me wanted to run away. Mr Havisham called me into his private office as soon as I arrived.
“Close the door and lock it,” he said. His voice sounded different today.
