Maya’s POV
I stood at the door with my hand on the lock. My heart beat like crazy. Liam was right outside. He wanted to come in and help me but the video on my phone showed everything the two men did to me in the warehouse. If I let him in now, how could I hide it?
“Maya please,” Liam said again from the hallway. His voice sounded kind and worried. “I know you are scared, open the door. We can just talk, I will not push you.”
I wanted to open it so badly. His warm voice made me feel safe for a moment but the blackmail message kept ringing in my head. Send the video to him or we will. I took my hand off the lock and stepped back.
“I am okay Liam,” I said through the door. My voice shook. “I need to sleep. Good night.”
He stayed quiet for a long time. “Alright but I am right next door if you need me. Anytime.”
His footsteps walked away. I let out a big breath and slid down to the floor. Tears came again. I felt so alone. My sister tried to protect me and now I was making everything worse. I crawled to my bed and cried until I fell asleep.
The next morning I woke up early. My eyes were red and puffy. I dressed in a simple blue dress and went to work. Mr Havisham was already in his office. He looked at me with sharp eyes.
“You look tired again,” he said. “Come here.”
I walked to him. He pulled me onto his lap and kissed me hard. His hands moved under my dress. “No panties. Good girl.” He touched me between my legs and smiled. “Always ready for me.”
He f****d me quickly on his chair. I moaned softly while he moved inside me but my mind was somewhere else. I thought about the papers from my sister. I thought about the video. When he finished and sent me back to my desk, I felt empty.
The day went slow. I did my normal work but my eyes kept looking around. Who was watching me? Was it someone in this office?
Late in the evening Mr Havisham left for a meeting. He told me to lock up when I finished. I stayed behind and started looking through old files on the computer. My hands shook as I typed my sister’s name.
Many documents came up. Most were normal but one folder was hidden deep. I opened it. My eyes went wide.
There were messages between Mr Havisham and a doctor. They talked about medicine. Strong medicine. One message said, “Make sure Sarah Collins gets the special dose. She is asking too many questions.”
My stomach dropped. Sarah, my sister. They really did this to her. Tears filled my eyes. I copied the files quickly to a small USB drive and hid it in my bra.
I kept searching. Another paper showed payments. Big money to girls who worked here before. Some girls left suddenly. Some got sick like my sister. My hands started shaking more. This was proof, real proof.
“Why did you do this to her?” I whispered to myself. “She only wanted to help our family.”
I took photos with my phone too. My heart beat very fast. If Mr Havisham found out I saw these, he would kill me too.
Suddenly the office door opened. I jumped and closed the files fast. Mr Havisham walked in. He looked surprised to see me still there.
“You are still working?” he asked. His eyes moved over me. “Come to my office. I need you before I go home.”
I followed him. My legs felt weak. The USB drive felt hot against my skin. He closed the door and pushed me against the wall. He kissed me rough and lifted my dress.
“You have been distracted all day,” he said. He turned me around and entered me from behind in one push. I gasped. He f****d me hard against the wall. “What is on your mind Maya? Tell me.”
“Nothing sir,” I lied. Inside I thought, I just found out you killed my sister. I hate you but I moaned like I enjoyed it. His thrusts were deep and angry. He finished inside me again and told me to clean up.
When he left I sat at my desk for a long time. I felt sick. The files on the USB burned in my bra. This was dangerous. But it was also hope.
I finally packed my things and left the building. The night air felt cool. When I reached my apartment floor, Liam was standing at his door again. He looked at me with those sharp eyes.
“Maya,” he said softly. “You came home late again. Your eyes are red. Please talk to me.”
I stopped in front of him. The USB drive felt heavy. The video from last night was still on my phone. Everything was too much.
“I found something tonight,” I whispered. “Something bad about my job.”
Liam stepped closer. “Tell me. I can help.”
Before I could say more, my phone buzzed loud. I looked at the screen. New message from the unknown number. I opened it with fear.
It was a live video feed. It showed me inside Mr Havisham’s office tonight, copying the files, taking photos. Everything.
The text below said:
“I saw what you did. Delete everything or the video of you in the warehouse goes to Liam right now. You have five minutes.”
My blood turned cold. They were watching me even at work. I looked up at Liam. He was waiting for me to speak.
