We, right?

Logan-POV As I nudged open the heavy oak door to my sister’s bedchamber, a silver object whizzed past my head, puckering my pooper as it embedded itself into the wooden frame with a thud. I froze for a moment, waiting for another, knowing not to underestimate Lindsay’s lethality. She wasn’t called Belladonna for nothing, and her skill with a dagger was as deadly as the nightshade flower she'd been nicknamed after decades ago. “Careful, Logan,” she whispered, her voice laced with a dangerous edge as she emerged from the darkness, her silhouette illuminated by the dim glow of the sconce hanging on the wall behind me. “One of these days, my aim could be off, and you might not be so lucky.” I exhaled an unnecessary breath, one I didn’t even realize I’d been holding, and chuckled. “I’ll keep that in mind,” I replied, my blue eyes meeting hers as she plucked the shiny dagger from the door frame. “But I come bearing urgent business, sister. Let me in.” Lindsay arched a sculpted eyebrow, her piercing gaze narrowing as she caught sight of the woman in my arms. “And what urgent business might that be, dear brother?” she quizzed, her voice dripping with skepticism. Not caring for her tone, I stepped forward, kicking the door open with my foot, but she caught it. “No! Explain first,” she demanded, her voice now firm. I gave her the look; a look that could drop panties or harden c***s, but with my sister it just boosted my chances of getting what I wanted. “I scented her blood when the supply came in and ordered a hunt for her. Vurben disobeyed my orders and injured her on the way here, and now she’s hurt and filthy.” Lindsay’s face flittered through emotions before she stepped back and opened the door, waving her hand for me to enter. “And what exactly do you expect me to do about it?” she questioned, her tone tinged with a mixture of anger and curiosity. “You should f**k him up for it!” “Oh, I’m going to, tonight at moon's peak. I need to leave her here, and I need you to clean her up while I go remedy the bloodbath your mutt left behind in my room.” “Not on my f*****g bed, Logan! Put her on the floor,” she shrieked, dashing towards me. “Did you just hear what I f*****g said, Lindsay? She’s in no condition to be put on the floor. I’m putting her on the bed!” “Ugh…my sheets are going to get dirty though,” she whined, flipping the black duvet back on her bed with an attitude. “And does Develton know she’s here?” I glanced at my sister with a glare that could've melted glaciers, the answer to her snooty question weighing heavily on my tongue. “No, he doesn’t know that she’s in the coven,” I finally sighed. “He knows I ordered a hunt for her after I scented her blood, but he doesn’t know that she’s here now.” “Logan...” “Don’t, Lindsay, I need your help! Can you not smell her? She said she was human when she donated, but there’s no way she’s a human.” I jumped as Lindsay placed her hand on my back and moved around me. “She definitely doesn’t smell human,” she agreed, leaning forward, sniffing her scent. “Which household is she from?” “The Amana household,” I replied, meeting her gaze as her eyes widened, and her arched eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. “Amana?” she questioned. “As in the witch Amana? No, no brother, if this girl is her kin, you shouldn’t have brought her here! That witch is more terrifying than your sire!” “I don't care, Lindsay! I wished for her! I made a birthday wish this morning and begged Lilith for something -anything- to happen, and it did—she did!” “Logan, come on. You sound crazy right now.” “I’m not f*****g crazy -mesmerized maybe- but not crazy. I was addicted to her scent the second I smelled it, and I’ve got this overwhelming urge to take care of her, like I need to provide for her and make sure she’s safe. f**k, maybe I am crazy!” I admitted, locking eyes with my sister once again. Lindsay stared at me silently for a moment, her hard expression softening by the second, and finally she nodded. “Fine, I’ll help. But she better be worth it, brother. If I get sent to the sanctum because of this, I’m going to slice your balls off!” She wasn’t serious—I didn’t think, but I still winced at the threat. Talk about me being crazy! “Thank you, sister. I would say I owe you one, but your f*****g mutt stole it from you. He devoured her donation bag and splattered it all over our bedchamber. You’ll have to take your repayment up with him if it's required!” “Don’t blame my Chomper! You must have left her bag out in the open where he could get to it. He doesn’t have f*****g arms, Logan!” She defended the mutt. “He needs to stay out of our room. You know Dev doesn’t want him in there, anyway, and now I’ve got a huge f*****g mess to clean up because of him. You better hope Dev doesn’t lose his s**t when he comes back.” “No, you’re the one who better be worried about Dev losing his s**t, not me!” she retorted, placing a fist on her hip as she pointed her red-painted claws at me. “I can get away with Chomper being in there. Can you get away with her being in here?” My tongue tied like a cherry knot. She had me. I didn’t know how Develton was going to react to her being in his coven, but I was sure that it wouldn’t be all rainbows and f*****g sunshine. He was probably going to be livid, but I would defend her. “Just clean her up, and let me worry about my sire,” I snapped, having no other comeback. “I’ll be back after I clean up our room. And I’m going to wake Dortha, so she can cook for her.” Lindsay snorted before she burst into laughter. “Yea, good luck with that.” I shot her a glare before I glanced back down at my unconscious beauty. Her fair skin glowed against the black sheets, and I could feel myself falling deeper for her. “Just clean her up please, and don’t leave her unattended. She shouldn’t wake up alone.” “Whoa Brother, take my hand! It looks like you’re about to fall pretty hard!” she teased, extending her hand playfully. I batted it away, chuckling as I walked towards the door. “Whatever, just do as I asked, shithead. And be nice to her if she wakes up, she’ll probably be in pain.” “I’ve got this, brother, but you might wake up in pain if you really plan on ordering Dortha up to cook for a human.” I smirked as I opened the door and stepped into the hallway. “But we just agreed that she’s not a human, right?” “No! No, we, Logan! Stop bringing me into your s**t!” My sister's hiss of frustration was the last thing I heard before I closed the door and proceeded down the hallway towards mission number two--Dortha.
