“Oh my god!” Lisa’s voice pierced the air, sharp and electric. Her hands clutched the invitation like it was a golden ticket. “Aiden, this is huge! The Alpha King’s party? His Luna’s birthday? We’re definitely going!”
I swallowed hard, the taste of frustration bitter on my tongue. My chest tightened as I tried to steady myself. “Lisa, wait—”
But she was already spinning, the invitation fluttering in her hand like a flag of victory. “I’ve always wanted to see the Alpha King’s pack! They say it’s like stepping into another world—all gold, marble, and power. And now we get to go!”
She stopped suddenly, her eyes locking onto mine, bright and unyielding. “I have the perfect dress. Oh, Aiden, we’ll look unstoppable together. Can you imagine?”
