51 Glenn tossed me a set of keys as I stepped off the porch. I started to ask why, then nodded. Ralph was in no condition to drive (his driving was frightening enough when he wasn’t concussed) so, of course, I’d be driving his car. “I’ll leave first, then you wait a couple of minutes and follow. Ralph still live over on Willow Street?” I said he did, and Glenn said we’d stop there first. I nodded, but I could feel myself losing energy, getting disoriented. My head felt funny, like I was looking through a pair of glasses made of two different thicknesses of glass. The sense of distortion at the upper portion of my vision made me dizzy. “Hey! You okay?” Glenn asked. I nodded. I had to be. I didn’t have a choice. Glenn headed back to his truck cab and came back with a bottle of Coke. “H
