The next day
Zayne walked towards the dungeon with Darren behind him and two other men. His eyes were cold and intent as alwayas as he made the final turn that led to the dark dungeon.
A dim light was immediately turned on, lighting the place up dimly.
"Unlock the gates" Zayne ordered and Darren got to it, swiftly unlocking the gates.
The dungeons of the lycan kingdom had been empty most of thee time since the ascension of King Zayne who found killig those who offended him and went agaisnt the laws much more better than locking them up in some dungeons but the dungeon had just been in handy in keeping Daniel.
"Stay here" Zayne said and stepped into the dungeons alone.
He had been in the dungeon himself a couple of times, thrown in there by his biological father, the late king.
"Where is she? Where is Loiret?" Daniel asked weakly.
"She is the first person you ask of. You are not even asking about how your pack is doing right now" Zayne cracked his knuckles lazily.
"Where is she?" Daniel repeated the question, crawling to his knees as his hands and legs had been bound, making his movement very difficult.
"Stop asking about her like she is yours" Zayne groaned and then crouched down so he could face Daniel.
"Where is the orb of power?" Zayne questioned and Daniel let out a weak chuckle.
"You really think I am going to tell you where it is?" Daniel asked.
"I hope you know the reason you are alive is not because that little woman pleaded with me to spare you? Tell me where the orb of power is, or you are going to see yourself dying in the most gruesome way possible"
"I don't care" Daniel cackled and Zayne groaned, throwing his head back a bit, letting his black hair dance back for a few seconds before he suddenly returned his gaze to Daniel and sent his claws across Daniel'ss face.
Daniel cried out in pains, his shriek rising higher and louder as pains sizzled through him.
"Tell me where that s**t is!" Zayne growled, losing it even more.
"I won't tell you until I breathe my very last" Daniel cried out, regardless of his pains.
Zayne was a bit more intrigued, wanting to see just how much more pains Daniel could handle. He reached out for a pocket knife and removed the sheath, revealing the gleam of the silver blade.
Zayne got up to his feet and with a kick, he had the groaning Daniel pressed to the hard floors of the dungeon. Without any second thoughts, Dante threw the knife at Daniel's thigh with just enough froce to send the knife deep into Daniel's body.
"You monster! You devil! Get this off me!" Daniel screamed and Zayne took his foot off Daniel, leaving the poor man thrashing on the harsh floor.
"Let me know where the orb of power is and I am going to give you the easiest death ever" Zayne said and turned away from Daniel.
He stepped out of the dungeons andd glanced at Darren.
"Let him be for ten more minutes and then have him nursed back to health. Get the best doctors to do it. He must not die. Not yet." The last words was spoken to himself more than to Darren.
"Yes, Your Majesty"
Zayne walked away, the other two men following behind him at a fair distance. With every step he took away from the dungeon, he felt his fury increase. He neede the f*****g orb of power.
Zayne needed no one to tell him that for every other person who had power in this realm of life, he was a threat they all wanted to get rid of. More powers was the only way he could maintain control and keep every one in check, right under him.
The orb of powers would provide him with those powers he so badly wanted but Daniel was the only one who could know where the orb of power was. He needed Daniel to speak us so he could get his hands on those powers.
"Leave" Zayne let out a one word order to the men following after him and without as much as a word, they both left.
Zayne pushed the door to his room open and shut it with a loud bang.
"That bastard" he reached for his shirt that had been stained with a bit of blood when he tore Daniel's face.
Just then, a small knock came on the door and Zayne turned his angry gaze to the door. The knock came again and Zayne swelled with more anger.
It was common ethics for the royal maids to knock only once. King Zayne's senses was sharp enough for him to hear them at just one knock, so if they got no response to the first knock, it meant they were unwanted at the moment.
And then it came again, a third knock.
"Who the f**k is that? Come right in"
The door opened and Loiret walked in, innocently with a cup of tea in her hand.
"Good morning, your majesty" She greeted, bowing her head slightly without even noticing the mood in the room.
Strangely, Zayne felt his anger disipating immediately she stepped into the room. His tense msucles relaxed and his facials softened from his furious look into the usual cold look.
"Drop it on the table" He said to her and watched how she scurried over to his table obediently and dropped the cup of tea.
It was evident. His words the previous day had gotten to her.
"Does your majesty need me to do anything else?" She asked softly.
"You know you just made a mistake, though?" Zayne replied her with a question and moved tw steps closer to her, each step closer to her easing him a bit more, almost assuring him that he would be finding total ease if he pulled her into his arms.
"A m-mistake?" Her voice trembled as she raised her head up to meet with his always chilly gaze.
"You..." He took another step closer to her.
"Don't knock twice but you did, thrice" He was standing right in front of her at the moment and Loiret could feel her breath getting heavier with every second.
"I am sorry, your majesty. Please forgive me and don't kill anyone from my pack" Loiret bowed deeply and Zayne could not help but think she looked so close to being adorable.
"Raise your head"
Loiret did as he said and shivered when his fingers touched her jaw and lifted it up so she could really look into those beautiful green eyes.
"You could apologize in a better way..." his thumb caressed her jaw ever so lightly.
"In a way that would take away all of my anger."
