“This is ridiculous,” Jinx said, cutting me off. “It’s time to find out what’s going on.” She jumped off the bed and stepped into the hall. “I’ll risk the sepsis. It’s now or never.” Crap. The girl was fearless. How could I admit to being scared now? She strode down the hallway toward the one room remaining at the end. It was the room that must have been directly above us when we heard the crashing noise downstairs. If Jinx could be bold, I had to be too.
