Lacey finished her “moving day” photos and moved on to the skateboard outings with Jake and Adam while Martha worked on her latest family vacation pages, each comfortable with the other’s company, content to share in the silence. Outside, Adam and Jake were hunkered down, each holding a side of their ramp while Doug hammered away, attaching the plywood on each side to the triangular piece in the center. Doug loved it when Adam asked for his help with a project, and it seemed as he got older, the projects got bigger. He smiled as he looked at the boys.
